I don't understand why Buffalo let him walk after last season and the Texans cut him in the middle of the season. Seasoned kick and punt returners who know what they are doing and never make mental mistakes don't grow on trees. Guys that have the speed to return kicks to the house are even rarer. He made the Pro Bowl the past three seasons. He joined the Chargers and immediately solidified a position that has been a problem for the Chargers forever. Like Coach Staley said in his locker room speech after the game, he showed the team how Pro Bowl players go about their business. He always knows what he's doing, if he makes a decision on a punt return or a kick off return, you know the decision was the right one. He doesn't make mental mistakes.
It looks like he is just beginning to hit his stride/mesh with the Chargers return teams, and just at the right time too. He had a long return against KC and he opened today's game with a long return that set up the offense in great position to a score a first-drive TD, then he returned one for a score. This could pay some dividends going into the playoffs.Comment

He just needs to stop dancing around. His TD return, and the KO return to open the game, he just got going and made a cut once he got to full speed, and never slowed down.
Brian Mitchell (former Redskin and Eagle) who is #2 all-time in terms of scoring returns, always said that you just accelerate upfield and don't worry about the 1st guy. if you start dancing, the return guy gets swarmed or hemmed in. You use the moves on the 2nd+ guys.Comment
