    Cherish all the memories?
    All of them?
There are many I wish I could forget.

      The good ones.

Like the 1995 playoff game against Miami - I was there and it was the greatest moment I witnessed live. Followed closely by their triumphant return from Pittsburgh a week later.
Air Coryell when it first hit was beautiful. Finally, the team was repaying me for my fandom.
1992, hell, the whole Boss Ross era, was awesome.
Junior Seau, Dan Fouts, JJ, Kellen, LT, Gates, Rivers, Fred Dean, Big Hands, Louie, Joiner, Wes, Muncie. There were a lot of great moments I got to experience.

I'm curious how this poll would break down for in-town fans vs out of town fans. I totally understand out of town fans still following the team. I can't quite relate to in-town fans still following them if they move to LA. Is Carmen Policy correct? Will San Diego fans still support them up there?

I guess the question is (other than just being attributable to Spanos-mouthpiece bullshit ): What evidence does Policy have that might indicate San Diego fans are going to be willing support the Chargers in LA? Or is he, as I suspect, just talking out of his ass?

Yeah, he's talking out his ass most likely. It's bluster, IMO. But the poll breaks fairly even in this forum, so I was wondering the split for in-town vs out of town.

I really don't know what I'll do. I'm out of town now, but grew up in SD, so I really don't want to see them move. If they go, I won't be the same fan I am now, but it will be hard to go cold turkey. As players I like retire or leave the team, it will be easier to ignore them. I would probably still watch football, but far less regularly. I voted "no" on the poll (or pool or pole) so that in the off chance that the idiot owners are keeping score, they'll have a tiny bit more doubt about keeping old fans loyal. If they move, when Spanos dies I won't piss on his grave or anything, but he better carry an umbrella while walking under bridges while he is still alive.

Good memories. I was in Loge Section 31 for that Miami game - as with every other home game from 1978 through 1995. It seems like every time we played Miami, it was either the greatest game ever played or a horrible beat-down.

I do own the team - at least that's what all the money I've spent on the team says. If I don't own the team, I want all my money back with interest and some fucking punitive-damage money for all the time I wasted on the team that was never mine.

I owned season tickets before Alex Spanos ever attended a game. Part of my tax money went toward Jack Murphy Stadium and its upgrade - not because I thought the stadium somehow benefited me personally, but because I thought the team that used that stadium was the San Diego Chargers.

If the San Diego Chargers are just the Wherever the Spanos's Want Chargers, then I want all the tax money back that went toward the stadium, the trolley, and any practice facility that the Chargers ever used. I also want all the money back that I spent on season tickets, the Super Bowl appearance, and San Diego Chargers merchandise because, if those weren't the San Diego Chargers, then I spent all that money on some false bullshit.

They may come to be "hometown" like Rivers and others who become involved in the city but except for Seau who else can you feel the pride of homegrown for.
It seems so silly to me that anyone would drop their fandom because of this potential move. They were the LA Chargers before they were San Diego. San Diego does not have "birth rights" to them.
I am a fan of the good vs evil (Chargers Raiders) aspect. Hadl, Alworth, "The Goast", Speedy Duncan and many, many more through the years. There is an evolution of players but it's still the good guys against the bad guys drama on Sunday no matter what city.
They were the LA Chargers for 1/55 of their lifetime, and San Diego Chargers for 54/55 of their lifetime. Here's my major issue with them moving and me not following them. San Diego has been dying for a major league championship. We've invested the time, money, heartbreak in this team. If they move, and then win a championship, that's LA's championship, not SD's. I have civic pride, I don't identify as an LA citizen. I would take no joy in the Chargers finally winning the big one after the team moves. And say it's within 5 years of them moving something like that happens. That means all the bandwagoner-johnny-come-lately's of LA got the Championship on the backs of us, using our sweat equity. It would be like sitting at a slot machine for 2 weeks, finally getting up, and the guy that sits down right after you, pulls a winner on the next spin.

Nobody's saying the Chargers can't move. We're simply refusing to pay for their product anymore if they do. Nothing entitled about that.
