Chargers @ Raiders Game Day Thread / Post Game Discussion (Wk 18)

This Chargers team is not a playoff team....period.
The Raiders were clearly the better team tonight.

This team is at a crossroads.....not convinced that all they need is a RT, a pass rusher, a corner, etc.
This coaching staff has some big question marks hanging over their head with how they performed not only tonight,
but over the last 12 games of the season.

Bringing in Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator would be a good start.
Rookie head coach, rookie d-coordinator, junior offensive coordinator, not an impressive team performance.

Some here will blame this player or that player on the squad;
Raiders won with Brandon Parker at RT, Alex Leatherwood at RG, Brandon Facyson at corner.....

I'm not even upset. They were exposed tonight...now we know.

Clearly better? It took kicking a fg at the end of OT for them to win. Not sure how that shows a clearly better team.

I'm not sure why anyone blames the TO on any decision making from the Raiders. I think Madden dying had a lot more to do with it.

I think not wanting to play kansas city again had more to do with it.

That reminded me of a game against the Raven's, some years ago -- it was 4 and 17, but the Ravens converted and the Chargers lost. This team is just snakebit in those situations.

Going home. Our defense sucks

The offense did a nose dive for most of the 2nd half.
It was a team loss: offense, defense, special teams...that idiotic special teams hold that put them inside the 15 with 2 minutes left.

Congrats to Dean Spanos for failing to make the playoffs again.

Staley's not the problem. It's a competent DC who knows what he's doing. How many third and ultra longs have we given up this season. Either we have the crappiest secondary or zero depth!

Stayley is supposed to be a defensive genius. Our defense got worse this year.

I would bring Fangio on as DC asap since stayley will be here for a while as HC

Not happy with the outcome, but I'm glad that I tuned back in for the final drive by the Chargers to tie the game. I've never seen anything like that.

Zero depth. I'm tired of hearing Telesco's name with depth. We need a new front office.
I'm tired of an owner that really can't afford to field an elite team in Los Angeles after taking a crap on San Diego. This organization is always taking short cuts and has always had a bad reputation for being cheap and hard to deal with.

The last timeout didn't matter. The Raiders might have been trying to run out the clock but they were picking up yards with ease. They would have stumbled into FG range regardless.

You don’t know that. We could have stopped them in the play and they would have been further out. It was a STUPID time out
