I think it made no difference whether he called the time out or not. They were gonna run the ball no matter what. The fact they made ten yards on the run is what determined whether they were gonna try for the field goal or not. If we would have stuffed them for one yard run gain they would knelt down for the tie. This is how stupid we handled the situation.

Yes, giving up 10 yards when you know they’re running it and you call a TO to get your run d set is really the epic failure of the Chargers and the thing that haunted us all season

Did you see a lot of off target throws by Herbert? I sure didn’t. In fact he threw one of his greatest games. How many of the misses happened in the 4th quarter when every Charger play was a pass and the Raiders were playing 7/8 defensive backs and their DL wasn’t even thinking about defending the run? How many occurred because of dropped passes hitting receivers in the hands or failing to get separation because they were exhausted. Remarkable he only had 1 interception considering how many times he threw into tight windows. Doubt anyone could have done better or had a higher completion percentage making those throws.
