JMO.
w/11 picks, am most certain one of them will go to RB, and think that Cordarelle Patterson is still a likely FA target.... we can't leave Austin back there on his own, as no one else has shown they can carry the load if need be.... Austin is mighty, but you can almost see him grimace when he knows he has to lower his head and go between the tackles.... that is asking too much of him.

personally would prefer Donald Jones, and had hopes for D'Ernest Johnson, but as Popper points out, the connection is to Patterson, and he fits well.

also think a vet TE is a good idea, as don't think we've adequately filled the hole post Henry, and.... ditto for RB post MG3.
5/11 Fuaga, 37 Kamari Lassiter, 40 Sinnott, 67 Bralen Trice, 69 Cedric Gray, 105 Jaylen Wright, 110 Braelon Allen, 140 Joe Milton, 181 Khristian Boyd, Tylan Grable, 225 Daijun Edwards, 253 Miyan Williams

I don't think we have ever had a DB group this good before.
This from a guy who has seen them all!
In my '78-on experience, true. The make-up of the D is shaping up very nicely indeed.

I am looking at the draft and to get more picks I am hoping someone like the Lions trade up. I would be all about trading back to 32 and picking up the Lions 32nd and 34th pick. And with those picks I am not opposed to take RB Breece Hall and OT Abe Lucas. These 2 guys instantly improve the offense. Solidifies the RT position for years and Ek now has his complimentary back.

Now you have your 3rd, 4th and 5th for rotational depth at WR, Edge and DB the 3 guys I would like to see taken are 3rd DE/OLB DeAngelo Malone, 4th WR Velus Jones Jr and 5th CB Zion McCullom.

I would also like to see them resign Justin Jones and Oday Aboushi still. I think it’s a good possibility after the release of Bulaga. Im also holding out hope for ILB Kenny Young for good depth.

That would be perfect for the Chargers. Lions would be losing out on points with that exchange.....but if they really want their QB.
Not certain if Hall makes it to top of 2nd.

Point chart doesn't mean shit anymore, especially when a QB is involved.

I still think the team will never sour on Storm and Pip. Would it surprise anyone if they have either pegged at RT? And end up going with another threat to score? WR maybe?

Im also starting to feel the potential for a LB. Like Dean or Lloyd.

Just a gut sort of thing now based on all our moves. I still think we are interested in Wagner. Just because you cant make all these moves and go through the same LB issues as last year. Wagner would be the glue for this new puzzle. He just doesnt fuck up. He is as consistent as it gets. All this stuff we are doing...id hate to get into the season and see the same Murray and MLB struggles.

I understand good run defending DTs will help...but the LB group last year killed me personally. Mistake after mistake. The top 2 guys in this draft are 3 down pass defending LBs. I love those types in this defense.

Dean in this defense would be fun.

looking over the (nickel) D, the two soft spots are Tranquill and Adderley (QB rating against is not good)

Nakobe Dean could well be amazing, and gotta think that Wagner would hold it down in the middle of the D as well

how much better can it get.... ??

My preferred ILB draft target. A 4th rounder.

                      JoJo Domann

                      Nebraska Cornhuskers, Las Vegas Raiders

Raiders NFL Draft Prospect: JoJo Domann, Nebraska Huskers

Nebraska’s JoJo Domann is the modern hybrid linebacker-cornerback teams such as the Las Vegas Raiders are hoping to obtain via the NFL Draft.
Nebraska Husker JoJo Domann is a perfect example of how modern hybrid defenders are expanding their versatility on the field.
The Las Vegas Raiders can certainly benefit from drafting a versatile defender like Domann.
While most 3-4 outside linebackers are being utilized on run defense and blitz packages, Domann is a 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker who seemingly pulled back into coverage to cover tight ends and slot receivers.
“Dime linebacker or STAR who can cover tight ends and big slots in man coverage and excels in zone coverage,” NFL Draft Bible noted.
Domann only played 10 games of his final season at Nebraska before a season-ending surgery forced him to miss the final two games.
In his 10 games, Domann recorded 72 tackles (45 solos), nine tackles for losses, two sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions and three pass breakups.
Pro Football Focus graded him with an 87.8 coverage grade and an 83.1 run-defense grade in 2021, above most defensive backs in the span of two seasons.

After a tremendous season, Domann was named Second-Team All-American by the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus, Second-Team All-Big Ten by the coaches and Third-Team All-Big Ten by members of the Media.
Domann becomes a valuable asset to any defense with the ability to cover, tackle, and blitz.
While he will be better suited for sub-packages at the next level, he will need to bulk up and improve on his run defense a bit, but overall, Domann is a player who has overcome two ACL tears, transitioned from safety to linebacker and made an impact for the Huskers.

I see the Raiders drafting Domann in the later rounds of the draft and making a day one impact on special teams until he takes bigger steps on defense.

Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
