Ellison wasnt very good. I didnt like him coming out of USC but as a 6th rounder he was a good gambwho didnt last but 1 season and nobody picked him up.

Actually, the Seahawks picked Ellison up, but he didn't stick there.

Yep...Boston was also an EXPENSIVE dud:

Boston signed a seven-year, $47 million contract ($12 million guaranteed) with the San Diego Chargers in 2003. That season, he caught 70 passes for 880 yards and seven touchdowns, though head coach Marty Schottenheimer suspended him for a game after he cursed out strength coach Dave Redding. Despite his adequate on-field performance, Chargers GM A.J. Smith traded Boston to the Miami Dolphins for a sixth round draft choice, citing his moody personality and lackadaisical practice habits.

At least he didn’t run backwards into the end zone for safeties.

I remember exactly where I was and who I spoke with the moment I found out we signed Boston.
I remember being so damn happy
Fully believing we were on our way to our first championship soon.

This may be the year that the Charger's tradition of finding UDFA's comes to a halt. Our starters are all accounted for except for the RT and we have good depth. Can a UDFA crack the roster?

Someone is going to have to shine in Training Camp. With all this quality experience and 8 draft picks, its going to be tough. Maybe a special teams star.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Ellison got nailed for being in possession of a type of pain killer, in his first offseason with the Chargers.
I think the Chargers released him after that.

He was a big, slow, physical, super smart and instinctive safety. It was a shame what happened.

The 2006-2007 Chargers stopped grabbing away all the leagues good rookie free agents.

I got a feeling this is the closest the Chargers have come to those type of teams.

Who made it last year again? Obemiga?
