I followed Burrow closely his last year at LSU. His mental processing is pretty amazing. But that may have to do more with him being in a pro offensive scheme earlier, while Herbert had a bunch of OCs utilizing him in a gimmicky college offense. There are legitimate issues with Lombardi but his scheme really tested Herbert mentally. You can see the struggles earlier in the year against better defensive minds but I feel like towards the end, Herbert finally started to pick it up. A second year in the same offense while solidifying the right side of the OL should bring even more improvements.

They could have won if they had run more in the 2nd half instead of trying to pass the ball so much. The Bengals defense basically dared them to run by having more people in coverage. But Reid just loves the passing game too much.Originally posted by Hupperdoo View PostChiefs Choke: Man...I don't like them but they looked so good yesterday till that Brandon Staley moment at the end of the 1st half. They were getting the ball to start the 2nd. Could have gone in feeling good with the 3 points and momentum..BUT....that was the turning point of the game. Gave the Bengals hope. Deflated themselves. They gave it away.

I guess its natural to hype Burrow right now.Originally posted by Xenos View Post
We want Herbert to be like Burrow in the mental processing game as well. Kurt Warner actually spoke highly of Burrow in this regard and how he was even further along than athletic freaks like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson.

However,
A. the Cincy D was excellent in their three wins
B. the Bengals were not lighting up the scoreboard in any playoff win
C. Burrow threw an un-clutch 4rth quarter interception.....fortunately, their D bailed him out.
D. Their field goal kicker is nails.
All these clutch big game quarterbacks seems to have elite field goal kickers.
Rivers throws a 2nd half pick and the mob comes down on him hard after the opposing team scores;
or they come down hard on him for not scoring the td, and having the field goal kicker shank another one.
Some qbs are just blessed.

And I offer as proof the fact the Chargers sent six players to the Pro Bowl (including two players from the supposedly talentless defense) while the Bengals sent half that many. The Chargers' defense was atrocious this season. But the personnel package is not as bad as the defense performed, the defense under-performed because of bad coaching.
Chargers have more talented OL.
Bengals have more talented DL, secondary, WRs.
Pro bowl is not a measure of talent.

Tampa Bay also met KC in the regular season last year. That is how they found out if you double Hill and Kelsey, you shut down KC.Originally posted by chaincrusher View Post
I see it differently than you.
Pringle and Hardman accounted for over 100 combined receptions with a combined completion rate when targeted in excess of 70%. They just look like trash compared to Hill and Kelce, who are both arguably the top players at their respective positions. They easily outproduced Guyton and Palmer. I wish we could have that kind of "trash".
Reid is arguably the best HC in the NFL. I would take him over Staley by a wide margin.
Throughout his time in KC, Mahomes has had the best offensive supporting cast in the NFL. At various times, he has had arguably the best WR, TE, RB, and HC to go with great OL play. To me, it is amazing that that always seems to be overlooked by people proclaiming the greatness of Mahomes. The offensive unit has been loaded.
The Chiefs lost yesterday because Mahomes choked. He brain cramped on the play at the end of the first half, even failing to know his team's timeout situation. And he sucked mightily in the second half and OT. It was not really anything that the Bengals were doing either. Mahomes was missing open receivers all over the place and threw 2 INT, the second taking place immediately after Apple dropped what should have been an easy game winning pick 6. Mahomes was terrible. He sucked the Chiefs right out of the playoffs. Even the Mahomes homers on the KC forums admit that. Heck, they lost even though Burrow gave them one INT and tried to give them a second, but the LB refused to accept it.
In last year's Super Bowl, we all saw that Mahomes sucked when under pressure, which he had largely avoided until his OL sustained injuries late last year. And Veach did correct the OL situation in the offseason from last year. They traded for Brown, signed Thuney as a free agent, and drafted Humphrey and Smith.
They did it in the second half of that game, and almost came back to win it. KC also didn't have any offensive line problems at that point either.
Fast forward to yesterday, and it's no longer a blueprint, it's now a roadmap with multiple ways to do it.
The man to fix this is Andy Reid. The NFL has adapted to him, and now he needs to adapt or die.
It's time for KC to build a running game to compliment Mahomes IMHO.sigpic

Really? Players are selected to the Pro Bowl based on how good looking they are? Because I always thought the Pro Bowl existed to showcase the NFL's top talent. :More Q Please:Originally posted by equivocation View Post

Sometimes the Pro Bowl is a joke.
Mac Jones getting selected is awful. Would any sane person say he is "top talent"?

Are you saying Bosa and James aren't worthy of their Pro Bowl s********s? What about Herbert and Allen, did they get voted in because they are popular not because they played well this season? Linsley and Slater are just popular picks, not worthy of recognition for their play?Originally posted by Xenos View Post

I prefer James getting the All Pro nod than a Pro Bowl one. Pro Bowls are whatever and I don’t really care if our guys get it or not.Originally posted by Velo View Post
