Yeah, but better, worse, the defense last year wasn’t good. This year wasn’t good. Two respected DCs - both with bad defenses. Both defenses notorious for being unable to make a stop when really needed. What was the common denominator? It wasn’t Staley, it was Telesco.

What a breath of fresh air. I have really enjoyed his press conferences after each day of the draft. He clearly has a vision for what he wants and the detailed traits he is looking for in each position on the field. His football IQ is off the charts and he has a very clear way of articulating things. I know he has not coached a

I think as HC, he should have his hands in everything. Maybe if this was a McVay situation where he solely concentrated on one area and left the other areas to other people. But it sounds like from everything I read, it was a defensive roster issue that Staley was trying to mitigate with some adjustments but ultimately failed. The most obvious example being the two Raiders game. One where we were defensively sound, and one where we completely whiffed. The latter happened far too often.
