You point to an event that did not involve a flag: end of regulation.

Yeah, but better, worse, the defense last year wasn’t good. This year wasn’t good. Two respected DCs - both with bad defenses. Both defenses notorious for being unable to make a stop when really needed. What was the common denominator? It wasn’t Staley, it was Telesco.

You rarely see DL called for defensive holding, but Dallas was called for it twice. And both were easy calls to make.

You can't horsecollar and tackle an OL. That's going to be called 100% of the time.

        Cowboys have some dumb-ass players
What was the game yesterday where they brought in an eligible 6th OL on the goal line - he tackled the defender, literally threw him to the ground, and then stepped 1 yard into the end zone for the TD pass completely uncovered. Sure he was uncovered, he grabbed the defender and threw him to the ground. You had holding and Offensive PI all in one play.

I think it was KC? That was a horrible blatant no-call there.

Then the reason the Rams' defense was so good in 2019 was because they had good players, not because Staley worked some kind of magic. That torpedoes the entire reason Staley got a HC job over candidates like Brian Daboll who are experienced, accomplished long-time coaches in the NFL.

You can’t use the argument that the Rams defense was only good because of the players, and then use Daboll as an example. Tell me how good Daboll was before Josh Allen. Heck that offense didn’t look that great until 2020 when they started to get more talent including trading for Stefan Diggs.

Maybe yes maybe no. LAR defense was #1 in 2020, #17 in 2021. Brian Daboll was HC for how many teams?

I think as HC, he should have his hands in everything. Maybe if this was a McVay situation where he solely concentrated on one area and left the other areas to other people. But it sounds like from everything I read, it was a defensive roster issue that Staley was trying to mitigate with some adjustments but ultimately failed. The most obvious example being the two Raiders game. One where we were defensively sound, and one where we completely whiffed. The latter happened far too often.

What a breath of fresh air. I have really enjoyed his press conferences after each day of the draft. He clearly has a vision for what he wants and the detailed traits he is looking for in each position on the field. His football IQ is off the charts and he has a very clear way of articulating things. I know he has not coached a

Well then he made a big mistake in hiring Swinton in the first place then. Glad he corrected it immediately if true. But that’s a serious knock on him. Same thing happened to Lynn his last season. Hopefully his second choice is better. And we continue to get him more ST guys.
