    3) First offense to score a touchdown wins, (if they score on the same amount of plays then start over)

    4) First defense to get a turnover wins

    5) No downs, keep running plays until someone scores

The refs would have to run up and down like basketball refs (give 40 seconds between plays)
What do you do with a player who can play both side of the ball ? Like William the refrigirator Perry.

Minor issue, pick a side or run up and down the field to join your squad

Each team gets a possession no matter what and then it’s sudden death.

That alone would be a huge improvement. Lately the team that wins the coin toss wins like 75% of the time. Coin flip shouldnt have that impact.

OK, but no punting after the first two possessions

This is also a fair way to go.

My thought is similar after we lost multiple key games by losing coin tosses. But the rule I thought of is this:

There is a coin toss and a 10 minute OT. The winner of the coin toss may elect to take the ball or go on defense. The OT is started with a kickoff.

The team that takes the ball first, Team A, can win the game without the other team possessing the ball if, and only if, they score a TD and make a two-point conversion.

If Team A scores a TD and kicks the extra point, then Team B gets the ball and must score a TD and must try a two-point conversion, which will decide the winner either way. So Team A knows it can still lose the game if it kicks an extra point.

On the other hand, if A fails to convert the two-point conversion, Team B gets to receive the kickoff and try to score a TD. Team B can then win by scoring a TD and kicking an extra point. If the extra point fails, then the first to score wins.

Defensive stops and FGs are played as they are currently.

I think this idea makes the team that possesses the ball first do more to win the game and it also increases the risk faced by the team possessing the ball first if they try to win without the other team ever possessing the ball by increasing the odds that by taking the risk, they will ultimately lose the game.

                Thoughts?

I like the college overtime. Both teams get the ball on a short field

In the NFL, the overtime problem is the impact of the coin toss. The first team to have the ball have a big advantage.
If you go with the full 10 minutes OT, if the team A score first, the team B will go on 4th down all the way. Not fair.
With the possession at the 30-35, you don't have to punt. There are to many punts in the CFL !
If the teams are ties after 1st possession, team B has the ball first. If team B score, it's now team A with the advantage on 4th down.
                    Fair enought ?

As alternate OT rules ideas go...that actually wasnt terrible, Crusher...I still would prefer a format where both teams get to touch the ball...but still...not bad.

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT
