Agreed, I think Jones would fit into this new rotation nicely but, not sure we have the cap room for him now and he was obviously not a top priority.

When I woke up this morning, the Raiders were still in the Chargers rear-view. Now they a spot on the horizon.

I was saying this in another thread-- No urgency to draft a CB at #17, with J.C. Jackson signed. And no urgency to draft a DT at that spot, with Day-Joseph and Austin Johnson already brought in to shore up the hemorrhaging in Run Defense. With Mike Williams re-signed, there's likewise no urgency to spend the biggest piece of draft capital they have on a wideout. The trade for Khalil Mack nearly eliminates the need to draft an Edge Rusher, certainly not at #17.

So as far as needs go, Right Tackle is there at the front of the list for the Bolts. It's also reasonable to believe that more than one qualified candidate will be on the board when the time comes for the Chargers to make their 1st round pick.

So I tend to think the pick will be a RT, too, unless a ridiculous talent takes a Derwin James-like drop. I think that possibility exists with a receiver, a guy with the speed to blow the back end off of defenses.
