He's exactly like Vigil was. A marginal starter, but a pretty good backup and ST guy. Players like him can be very handy, but you don't want to overpay for them, and we didn't. Murray has his ankle thing and Tranquill has missed some time with injuries, so a guy like him could see some time. If Murray's ankle is serious, he could see a lot of time.

I don't think his signing is anything more than a stop gap thing. He is not the kind of guy who is going to influence our draft strategy. If there is a good ILB available, we don't have to draft for need. But if the right guy is there, we can still take him.

It will be interesting to see how Niemann fares after a year in the system and to get up to speed in the NFL. He is another depth guy who could get some playing time if he can step up.

Looks like Troy Reeder is this year's Kyler Fackrell-- a guy who will most likely be with the team one season while he tries to earn a large multi-year deal with his play in 2022.

If he can pull that off then more power to TT and Brandon. Pieces like this can be invaluable for a team come mid-season with the dings and dents of games taking their toll. I like this move a lot.

          Yeah, good observation.

Looks like we’re beefing up special teams to me. Good size, good speed, he looks like he brings some experience and talent as a teamer. Needs to play for vet minimum though.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Footballsfuture.com. There's a thread there over at the comparisons section I saw. Some of the stuff I read in the Rivers vs Stafford thread is horrible.

As for the focus of the thread. I think Reeder being another Kyle Fackrell would be well for the team.

Well that’s the comparison thread. There’s always going to be weird and awful takes.

But yeah, I think the takes are reasonable from the Rams fans in that subforum.

Nothing wrong with this signing. We're pretty thin at LB, after letting Vigil go (last year) and Fackrell and White this year. Had to do something.

If Reeder can produce even 1/4th the awesomeness as the legendary Bront Bird......he gets a thumbs up from me.

Just knowing the system is huge as both White and Murray really struggled with that.
