At that point the only positions that had 7 or more players selected were WR, OT, DE, and CB. Analysts may say that S isn’t a premium position but NFL teams don’t seem to be in agreement.
In hindsight, Telesco made the correct decision.
There was a run on corners and safeties; and by the time the Charger's 4rth round pick arrived,
there was nothing left of value at safety or corner.

Which if you circle around to #17 Trent McDuffie was on the board. That was value to KC enough to trade up to #21 with New England (who over thought process, they needed a CB too, but Belicheat liked to think he could address CB later. Marcus Jones in 3rd rd. Really?).

Now we know Telesco/Staley’s secret plan was to sign FA CB Bryce Callahan to play slot instead of McDuffie. What was Belicheats plan? Can’t wait to play them again.

Belicheat shit his shorts when we chose Zion then dropped down to reach for the next best guard.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

TT pulled a Suge Knight on Belicheat. Took his best defensive player. Drafted the OL player he targeted.
