The coverage techniques are different...work in progress.
We do not play modern football.

Agreed! I also think he is good at covering TEs. With his size and speed, he has no problem staying close to make plays. Vato will see plenty of time on the field with Kelce and Waller in the division. Denver also has a big fast TE in Albert O.

answer - Jim Tolbert (DB) was picked in the 7th round in 1966. Tolbert played in the NFL for eleven years.

Hopefully, Josh Palmer has little printouts of Chaincrusherisms pegged to his bedroom wall.

1 am: wakes up, reads one of them, cranks out 200 sit-ups, and 100 squat- thrusts, goes back to sleep after resetting the alarm clock 30 minutes earlier.

Unless Leonard surprises, they are going to play Davis a lot: more than Callahan
You can't throw Callahan out there all season.

Callahan might play more minutes in 4rth quarters.

Not on this team, ideally. He's solid depth though. He can run, stays on just about everybody, needs to improve ball awareness.

                  Deane Leonard, CB, Ole Miss

NFL Draft analysis for Deane Leonard, CB, Ole Miss

                  By CBS Sports Staff

                  Apr 30, 2022 at 6:21 pm ET•1 min read

                  Draft Scouting Report:

                  Strengths:

High-key competitor with good burst and transition to the field. Shows comfort in a backpedal. Plays downhill.

                  Weaknesses:

Limited ball production for the Canadian-born defensive back. Needs to improve his understanding of route patterns to react quicker.

                  Accolades:
                  • Ran a blazing 4.37-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day
                  • Career: 62 tackles, 11 pass breakups in 18 games across two seasons

                  Deane Leonard, CB

Positives: Talented cornerback who has flashed ability the past two seasons. Displays good footwork in reverse, stays in his backpedal, and fluidly flips his hips in transition. Battles receivers throughout the route and possesses a terrific closing burst as well as a nice move to the throw. Effectively times pass defenses. Fires upfield and gives effort defending the run. Keeps the action in front of him.

Negatives: Late reacting. Did not intercept a pass in the two seasons he played for Mississippi.

Analysis: Leonard possesses the size and speed to play on Sundays and has flashed next-level ball skills. He needs to fine-tune his game but should absolutely receive practice-squad consideration this summer.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

My older brother was born in 66’ LOL, I came along three years later…didn’t start paying attention to football until age 8-9 right around the time Coryell became the head coach. So Jim Tolbert not a name I’d be familiar with. I initially thought maybe rodney harrison but after looking him up I re-learned something I’d forgotten, that he was a fifth rounder…

Leonard. Speed, footwork, hips, competitiveness, burst. A lot of positives going for this guy.

Looks like Morgan Fox is getting the majority of the first team reps over Jerry Tillery to start out camp. Austin Johnson & Sebastian Joseph-Day are the other starting IDL
