That’s called results oriented thinking. You stick to the process and you analyze if you didn’t follow the correct process but you don’t change because you lost. If you’re at a poker table with the best hand and someone sucks out and beats you do you now fold your best hand the next time you see it? Nope you play it correctly the next time because over time you will win more than you lose.

also Brissett was carving us up so I’m not so sure he would t have continued to do that.

Poker is not a good analogy. The cards and mathematical probabilities are constant in the same situation.

By contrast, it is foolish to believe that Brissett and a ground-oriented Browns team will be just as effective at moving his team into game winning FG range as a pass heavy team with an elite QB. With Brissett and a run heavy Browns team, our chances to win with a punt are higher than they would otherwise be in that down/distance/time remaining situation.

The decision to go for it on 4th down was not based on analytics.

Analytics would tell you Chargers chance of winning was greater if they punted.

Staley made one of the worst calls in Charger history and the Browns bailed him out.

Incomprehendable decision. Staley put the Browns in almost immediate FG position with a normally good kicker.

I’m telling you if they lost this game there would have been mutiny. He would have lost the team. He may still. The coach can’t make stupid decisions like that

The uninspired play call just adds to the strangeness of it all. If you're going for a super ballsy play like that, it better be one of your best plays in your playbook...not a prayer toss to a super well covered MW.

I’m not saying analytics do t have a place. I am saying that if that decision was based on analytics (and it was 4th and 2 not 4th and 1 so the bot guy had it wrong) it was ridiculously stupid.

But...Brissett did miss throws late and they do have a rookie kicker so I can understand it a bit more. I would have punted myself but the numbers actually support the decision a lot more than I expected.

I'm still FURIOUS over the phantom Flopping call that cost us 4 points, the end of the game wouldn't of mattered if not for that call, that ref (& Staley) need to be fired.

Lost in all this will be the non-existent pass rush and allowing Jacoby Brissett to make play after play on us.

KAs Twitter confirms what I suspect...he will lose the locker room or at least they will have doubt in him.
