Lynn was a shit Spanos hire and 100% correct about how poorly they run the Chargers.

Many of us have been saying that for years and there are still deniers here.

Dea Spanos said it. Anthony Lynn said it.

It’s real clear why they hire these cheap coaches with no experience.

Dean and his incompetent sons parading around like billionaires. The league, fans, and players deserve better.

People here are in denial about Spanos? Don't ever recall anyone ever saying anything positive about them and the way they run the franchise.

When cheapness was brought up you in fact tried to deny it saying they spend the Cap on players. Now you going to deny you defended Spanos?

Lynn finally said what everyone around this organization has always known. It’s why Archie didn’t want his son here.

Yes some if not a lot of fans are in "denial"

For instance, when fans post ........ "Spanos does not get it" ... My response: Oh he gets it just get use to the Spanos burrito wagon prices and keep repeating this mantra

              or

"Spanos does not get Sean Payton so he is not serious about winning" (Repeat mantra)

              or

"Spanos is not broke ... I don't believe it" (Repeat mantra)

              or

"Spanos is not cheap with the salary cap but he is cheap with everything else but there are coaches I really like ....." (Repeat mantra)

              or

"Spanos made more money with the move - the team is more valuable now in Los Angeles" (Repeat mantra)

And the great grand daddy of them all .... we are to blame as fans so "yes" I see fan denial in droves. Look at the traffic at this site alone. It pains this fan when I see younger fans and gung - ho fans finally realize nothing will change until ownership changes and they wonder why we do this ? I know that hurts for that fan. Bad. Real bad.

Science has no answer so party on dudes !!!

Dean and his incompetent sons parading around like billionaires. The league, fans, and players deserve better.
The Chargers trust (36% of the teams ownership) is losing $11 million per year in a recent court filing by sister Dea Spanos.

If Dea Spanos who owns 15% of the team and could potentially control the Chargers trust (36%) is successful she will control 51% of the team (36% + 15% = 51%).

Now this is where it gets interesting. The NFL is arbitrating this mess now. Its no secret the NFL was pissed off at Dean for showcasing one of their franchises in a soccer stadium.

Its also no secret the NFL are greedy bastards and want their $645 million relocation money paid quicker from the Chargers (or a new owner !!!) instead of the 30 years to payback (it was 10 years until Spanos cried NFL poverty) which is split amongst all NFL owners.

It also no secret if the Chargers are sold it will be around $3.5 - $4 billion in the sale.

It stands to reason Dea Spanos has the upper hand here and her family needs to kiss her ass OR the Spanos reign will come to an end and be relegated to a minority owner status at 49% (less 4% for minority owners Pernicano & Fox) or an outright 100% sale if the bobble-headed sons and family agree. Dean in a letter to his sister Dea made a commitment to "explore" selling the team in 2024 to cool her jets. Dea realized the trust would be sufficient to satisfy debts and had since backed off the civil litigation but is pursuing NFL arbitration instead (a lot cheaper route mind you).

Snapdragon was built to accommodate expansion for NFL seating Super Bowl requirements. The return to San Diego can happen with just a little faith. The ingredients are "almost" all there.

                Stay tuned ......

I see the Spanos family selling the team in the not too distant future, essentially for the reasons mentioned here. I have thought for a while that Kroenke would love to see the Chargers leave LA, and he could argue that his SoFi deal is with Dean, not a TBD owner, giving him an out on the Chargers. Question then would be where would they go? Is upgrading Snapdragon really physically possible? Would the San Diego community be ready to work to get the NFL back?

Is also no secret the NFL is looking to expand by 4 teams and has NFL offices dedicated for developing NFL Europe.

The cities for expansion: Mexico (sold out seats), London (sold out seats), San Francisco (built as a two team stadium) and Los Angeles (built as a two team stadium - San Diego moves back). Also Kroenke is happy because of the new franchise fees for expansion teams will generate ($4 billion for 4 teams) and Spanos the renter can GTFO.

The LA expansion team works out the stadium cost details to become joint owners with arm twisting by the NFL to promote the NFL product in Los Angeles and San Francisco (since the Raiders split to Las Vegas)

Since these are 4 NFL expansion teams, the NFL owners get to split those "NEW" one time franchise fees to play in the NFL's sandbox of billionaires.

Here is a list of expansion fees charged since the NFL''s inception. Now extrapolate the franchise fee's in today's dollars and we are looking at $1 billion per team x 4 expansion teams or ~$4 billion to be split evenly between all the NFL owners.

                    https://www.profootballhof.com/news/...xpansion-fees/

The Chargers are in the NFL's arbitration rubber room so that may open the door for a new Chargers owner who may enjoy being a billionaire but NOT a "renter" in a stadium they do not own.

Snapdragon was built to expand up to 55,000 from its present day 35K configuration. Super Bowls require at least 70k seats or 15K short. Enter the stadium architects again to squeeze another 15K seats for any Super Bowl events.

The new Chargers owner is estimated to out of pocket $1/2 billion for the expansion of Snapdragon stadium and they have a relatively new open air stadium. No new taxes. No votes. No nada. The new Chargers owner pays for it all.

San Diego fans go ape shit a new owner with DEEP pockets is saving the day.

Those are the elements for NFL expansion and a return to San Diego.

Some say I am bat shit crazy and that's ok too.

                      Hahaha No.

we can’t even replace the sports arena for our minor league teams.

we will be lucky to get MLS in snap dragon mostly because to soccer we are kind of a big deal market where they are ready to settle on not having their own facilities.

no NFL team would ever come to SD on a sweet heart deal because of market size and long before the Chargers left town the public sentiment in this town was very clearly and strongly on the no public subsidies for rich NFL owners. Basically we don’t want the NFL here and the NFL doesn’t want to be here anymore.

Dean selling the team would be a dream come true. Whoever buys it hopefully has real deep pockets and he builds his own stadium wherever that may be, either LA or San Diego.

If they came back to San Diego that would be awesome but I just doubt that's going to happen
