Now we just need to cut Murray and McKitty so we can move on from players that clearly shouldn’t be on the field, hurt the team, but keep playing with the hope they someday turn it around strictly based on their draft position.

Similar to what Raiders did with Abram who was also a first round pick in 2019

I was surprised he made the team this year in the first place.

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Wow. I'm gonna have to guess he feigned injury, coaches admonished him, he blew up at coaches and GM and team stepped in. I suppose we won't really know the real story, but he'll probably go to the Seahawks now and become a stud DE knowing our luck unless this is another Lazy Gaither ordeal.

I think a big part of the reason he made the team is he was guaranteed 1.2m of his 2.1m salary. So the remaining 900k is basically what you would pay a 7th round pick or a UDFA in terms of a cap hit

So unless somebody traded for that contract - there was no cap benefit to cutting him.

Tyler Shoon on twitter suggested that this was in the works for weeks so he doesn't believe that there was a trade market for Tillery like Adam Schefter suggested. As if truly there was a market for Tillery and this had been a problem for a few weeks - they would have traded him on Nov 1/ Even if it was just getting a 6th for a 7th pick flip type deal

I still maintain that the selection of Tillery in 2019 saved this franchise from Drew Lock. As I have said before, in 2019 I read multiple articles that said Telesco was leaning toward drafting Lock with the #28 pick, with the idea Lock would sit behind Rivers for a season or two. Telesco chose to draft Tillery instead. If they had drafted Lock instead, we would not have Herbert.

Scouts described him as “a beast” physically. We now know it was form over function, nothing else. TT got scammed, heh.

Isn't this move simply just that they want to activate Foster Sarrell this week in case Pip can't go (gametime decision) and they need a spot open to do so? Tillery being the worst player on the team means he was the choice?

I hope that scout that was covering Notre Dame is long gone by now, but the responsibility lies with John Spanos and TT. Tranquill and Rochelle were the only ones that were worth their draft position.

Looks like Tarzen, plays like Jane. Somewhere, out there, chaincrusher is laughing. There's really nothing to see here. Tillery was suspect, at best, going into this season and he wasn't in the team's long-term plans. They just decided to release him 3 months early. Dead wood.

                          This.

It continues to baffle me how most of us on this board KNEW Tillery shouldn't have made the roster this year, clamored for him to be tossed, but it takes our coaching staff 1/2 the season to pull the trigger. And at a point when injuries have raised our need for DL.

Their personnel moves and timing make no sense.
