Staley says he'd rather give up 5 yard runs than a big pass play, yet the coverages and the tackling are atrocious in the secondary and we're still giving up the big plays in the passing game regardless. There is a reason we're bottom of the league in almost every category. I can't really believe that Staley is this aloof or stubborn, but it should cost him this job as well as everyone else on this staff.

The problem with Staley and his "relationships first" mentality is that through his loyalty, he'll continue to hurt this team. You know he'll never let go from Lombardi, Tom Arth or Renaldo Hill unless he's fired himself.

The bad Steelers are a game behind us. If Tomlin was our coach we'd probably be 7-5 on the low end 9-3 high end. Healthy 9-3 or 10-2?

NOW there is a correlation between the L.A's Sofi stadium and injuries. See #31 + #32

I cannot in good conscious say that this GM should return.

seems to be a running theme when it comes to Spanos teams.

are they not spending enough resources to keep their players healthy?
From what I'm seeing during Telesco tenure as GM of Chargers is they didn't invest heavily in line of scrimmage until Staley arrived and they used 1st Rd on OL twice and traded a 2nd for Mack. That is a big sign to me that this HC knows where to invest resources. I also like he doesn't coach afraid.

If Spanos fire him, they need to fire Telesco as well.
Which is then a new start for what GM and HC?
The next yes men for Spanos family.
So they rearrange the chairs and are going nowhere..

I would tie Herbert and Staley hip to hip and just let them have their entire career together. Just as likely to win a Superbowl that way as any other plan, IMO..
Who has it better than us?

He's a 3rd down rb! And we are nowhere with him. The same way sproles and little train and Ronnie Harmond once were. Also 1 of his 14 fumbles cost us the playoffs.... You can't fumble at that point in the game no matter what.

Herbert's never going to get those grass stains out of that jersey.

Why we lost: Herbert passed 47 times and was sacked 5 times and hit 14 others. Carr passed 30 times and was not sacked and only hit twice. Draft linemen early and often for both sides.

If Tomlin was the coach they would be same at 6-6.

I would add that the ONLY remaining starting offensive lineman standing in the second half was Matt Feiler. Name another team today that played down four starters on the offensive line. Again, this is not a black swan, this is systemic.
