I like Hairball. ha But he did do a lot of good for us. I think I was spoiled by LT and The Burner's overwhelming success before him. Made my expectations unfair for Melvin I'm afraid. I feel bad about that now. Sorry Mel!

We should have never signed JC or any other DB at that rate. You cannot pay every player on your team at the top of the market. QB, OL or DL are the only positions you should pay top dollar for.

JC, Derwin, MW and Keenan are all payed highly at the expense of the OL, DL and depth. It will be difficult to build a championship team this way. Now when JH get extended, the cap budget will be in trouble.

So what do we do? Can he be cut or bought out if he doesn't produce?

JCJ and the Chargers pushed to get him on the field after a "simple" ankle surgery. I thought he didn't look comfortable on it.
I strongly suspect that the tendon injury was the result of running hard with bad form due to a sore ankle.
Currently wait & see. I feel bad for both sides.

N one knows how he’ll recover. Tito on the DL had the same injury. So we have 2 guys trying to come back from that

I like your OL and DL emphasis. Chargers haven’t been legitimate playoff contenders since early 2000’s when they had dominant OL and DL.

JS and TT just don’t understand you win in the trenches.

The stupid bastards wasted high draft picks on BIP and Hairball who had to run behind lousy OL’s. It should be the opposite. A great OL can open gaps for all runners and give your QB more time to pass. Same on defense. It all starts up front.

Focus on OL and DL in 2023 draft and FA.

I would of been happier if they just spent all their Money on the OL and DL as opposed to their logic, and now a 31 year old WR is one of our highest paid players that TT seems to boast he ain't going no where! Sounds like it could be famous last words from a GM walking on eggshells. Good luck with that. In regard to JC even though he has the operation, it took him forever to heal from it and even BS was sort of shrugging it off, and he never looked like one of the highest paid FA on the market when he did play here. JC sort of reminds me of the David Boston signing.

They did a surgery to something he had forever. IMHO that changes everything, eg.: stress that every part of body is receiving.
Ofc he may recover but I unfortunately believe there are more injuries to come.
