All so true. Find a Dan Fouts video. He as accurate and threw with touch. But didn't fit the ball into tight windows like Herbert's laser throws do.

Fouts mastered timing routes of where a receiver WOULD be, he often threw with his quick release before they even made their break. and he knew based on where the receiver was and was going, and where the defender was, that he could drop it in a spot only the receiver would be able to get to. That was part of the genius of the Zampese/Coryell “Air Coryell”. Took the league half a decade to catch up to their offense.

But he didnt ever laser-blast rockets into a 2 foot window of a tightly covered receiver like Herbie does regularly. That may also be why if teams knew what he was calling, they could easily jump routes like the fucking cheating asshole Houston Oilers did in that 79 playoff game. Bastards, rot in hell.
