Exactly - my new name for Telesco is Gettleman if he pushes money for Bosa or Mack
Now if he releases Mack or trades Bosa - than the move with Allen is not as bad. Personally, I still would have traded Allen now
But this is a desperate GM who knows its safer to keep Allen than try to replace him

My biggest thing is - WR with speed and explosive playmaking ability is still the number 1 need on this roster

I just hope Telesco doesn't see the current WR and think "its good - we good" and he trades like a 3rd round pick to move up for Bijan or Mayer

Seems like this WR class isn’t that good. But Edge is. So I’m betting neither Bosa or Mack get restructured.

8.9m for Allen - who now has a cap number of 34m next year -

Mike Williams - pushed 5.7m of cap - so his cap number is 32m next year

With these two moves plus releasing Feiler and Hopkins, the team will be cap compliant on March 15

That said - I think the move to push this much money for Allen is stupid and shortsighted if they do the same with Mack or Bosa for another 20m - meaning 35m in total. I think that would not be beneficial to Herbert. - see what else happens these next few days

It's actually 5.49 for MW but , yeah. Surely there will be another move on both next year whether it is an extension or what.

Assuming that Feiler and Hopkins are released per, OTC, the Chargers will be at just over $1m of cap space

they will need
$3.5m for the rookies (unless they trade out of the first round, that number becomes closer to $1.5 plus they get another pick)
they will need $2m for the PS
$5m for the season

So the Chargers need about 15-18m of cap space

So who knows maybe something does happen with Bosa or Mack

Question??? Would you try and trade Ek and then draft Bijan? Not sure what Ek’s value is, maybe a 3rd and a 7th? He’s on a reasonable contract for as productive as he is.

I am probably not trading Ekeler but I would listen.

Maybe its just me - but there are really maybe two players, three - that are irreplaceable. Some players like JC Jackson or James are hard to replace for cap reasons

But my list is Herbert, Slater, Linsley and probably James
So 4 names - thats it. Doesn't mean I am cleaning house but it also means whatever to improve the roster - I am open

This is costing the Spanoses a bundle of cash. Like $24M being paid out immediately to Allen and Williams. No one wants to talk about how cheap they are?

Bosa is not getting traded, if anything it’s a restructure. They’re clearly trying to add to the current team, not reshuffle it.

Davis and Ekeler could be about 8m. That is not a lot. But again, you are just taking from the future.

I will say this - a lot of people think that these two moves lock in both Allen and Williams for 2024 because of the dead cap figures. I don't believe that. I just think they are focused on 2023
