I'm not a fan of the new number distribution. Just don't look right to have a LB with #9. I don't want to see a asterisk as part of a number lol.

Will the NFL have a He Hate Me coming? Lol Doubt it. They want it to look professional.

Carr is their QB so yeah, to me that's a good thing!

and even though he’s not NFL caliber I'm happy for the kid that he scored one last signing bonus, 200k is 200k and if he’s been smart with his $ since the chargers plucked him from the XFL, maybe him and his wife don’t have to worry about a fucking house payment…

I’m old school, so yeah I was taking a jab at the young guys that like unconventional numbers, but from the doing research football players used to wear weird numbers in the early days too….then the NFL got all rigid, so you could argue that they’re just going back to what once was…but that was before my time so it comes down to what I grew up with I guess…

BTW, when LT chose number #21 I was like, “well that looks stupid, the kid is wearing a CB number!” Then he started tearing shit up and I forgot all about it, LOL…

Remfro is an excellent slot, he just isn't blazing fast. Great chain mover.
Carr will want him in NO.

Just because Pittsburgh was forced to play him there don't mean he is a RT. We were forced to play Salyer at LT but he will be best at OG in the NFL.

Any OL that isn't versatile to play most the OL spots is limiting themselves.

Salyer has about as many snaps at LG as he does at RG, actually a bit more if we split hairs.

I can’t think of any OL player that played OG at a mediocre/average level and then did better moving out to OT. I thought Feiler should be considered RT backup starter when we had to run out the Norton’s and Sarrels, but not now in place of Pipkins.

I like the idea of trying Zion at LG, he didn’t seem very comfortable at RG so why not see how it looks. Salyer appears stronger than Zion, maybe that helps Pipkins in rush blocking schemes idunno

they won’t say it but apparently they think that he stunk at LG for 2 years. Right now the OL group has more OT depth than C/G depth so they may be focusing on how to strengthen that on the cheap. I agree he’s a better than normal depth piece but he’s probably still thinking he could be closer to his last contract here in $$$ than a league min deal, thats way too much.

I think TT and Co are waiting for post-draft to make all of their final depth fill moves, maybe if Feiler isnt signed they call him with a team-friendly offer.

it all depends on the draft…

In 45-55% of the drafts I’d rather have 3 second rounders than one first rounder between 5-10…in this draft rounds 2-3 are loaded, every draft is different but this one is loaded with talent all the way thru day 2 and very early day 3…

the chargers are not drafting starters for the 2023 season in this year’s draft, I KNOW, it’s kind of hard to wrap your head around it but it’s true, but they do need to add quality depth that can develop into starters in 2024 and beyond…thing is they need to badly improve depth in a lot of places, like Edge, TE, WR, OT, Edge, OG/C, LB, and Edge…
Idunno. I can see our Rd1 stars - easy to find: Herbie, DJ, Joey, Slater, Zion, Mdub. Who are our 2nd round stars on the roster? ASJ? Who else? Yes teams find stars in later rounds, but the probability that teams pick washouts and never-where’s increases in every round of the draft.

How many washout bad draft pick roster spots could be filled with near-league min salary FAs who at least the team knows can play a little? Because the other problem with more rookie draft picks is the team feels overly obligated to keep them on the roster and at least try and “develop” them - plenty of draft picks that never did dick but hung on for years just because they were a draft pick. We’ve got a couple draft picks on the roster right now that never did a thing or did next to nothing.

I can see it both ways - i just don’t automatically buy into the quantity argument.

Or TT could just draft Steve Avila and call it a day!
