The problem with Telesco is not his first round selections

Its the rest of the draft. JT Woods, McKitty, Rumph, Spiller, Palmer - - three of those players might have replacements. And none have been in the league more than two years.

Unless Bijan is on the board, this is the draft where you trade down!

Thats what I am talking about!!

It just seems like there are a few Edges, a few WRs, a couple CB, multiple TEs -- but only one Bijan that might be there at 21

Seriously doubt Bijan will be there @ #21. Gibbs may be there and he'll make an excellent replacement for Ekeler once he's gone (most likely after this year).
In such a case do we go RB OR WR, TE, Edge or some other? This is a more realistic scenario. .

If thats the case - again, thats where if there is a trade - trade back -- if you have that many options at 21 - that is not the best thing. Should be a few guys that stand out

I'm' hearing no Gibbs @21. Ok I'm not a draft guru or player evaluator. So who would qualify as a better option @21? I get if no one trade down. Please don't say
Bijan, he won't be there. I guess what I'm saying is are there any choices @ 21 that makes sense for us? Who maybe there? Can be a TE, WR, Edge, CB, DL, O line.

right - since I don't think Bijan will be there at 21
I am trading down - I get it takes two to tango

But Popper had a list of 14 names or something. If there are really that many options -- not just Poppers board but Telesco. Hell if Telesco has 6 options - you trade down. (Again, you need a partner -I get it)

Even running back - I see Gibbs but a guy like Tyjae Spears - he might be pretty darn good too.

Trust your board. TT/ Staley/ Moore have a damn good idea who they like after a ton of research.
We're just guessing. They'll take their BPA when on the clock.
There is a rich vein of Edge and TE this year. A #5 this year might have been #1 in another draft so the odds favor them.
But, it could be any position other than QB.
My early position choices would probably be TE-DL-Edge

LOL, That's exactly what I'm afraid of.

Given the lack of true blue chip prospects in the draft, it could be tough to trade down - have to find a team in love with a player to do it. But if we could, I'd be all for it given our cap space this year.

On adding a wr (theory) I have seen allot of Podcasts focusing our need at WR as a slot wr type of player. I think this is short sighted and wrong. At least in how we have approached the wide receiver play we have had. I'm sure most of you know all our receivers play about 1/3rd of their snaps from the slot. A dedicated slot receiver will likely play the bench when we run KA or MW from the slot and that limits his usefulness. I do not see us using a pick before day 3 on a slot only guy. Second it is clear that after this year or next year KA will be gone. Any WR we draft we should figure to be a compliment to BMW and or Joshua Palmer. In this way a guy who can play outside or inside and develope into a 1a or 1b receiver in the next two to three years should be the goal if we are drafting in the first three rounds in my opinion.
