Yes since he is a core special team player. He is in no danger of getting cut. I doubt Dotson will be active too often on game days.

I'm relieved to know that Dotson is making the team. A guy with his burst and ability to make the first defender miss would be a HUGE asset late in games when opposing defenses are gassed.

Over the course of the season, Kelley, Spiller, and Ek could easily have 1-3 week stretches where they's benefit from being inactive. Dotson could be great in the role of fill-in during such times.

So we’re keeping a player at the presumably last spot who has untapped potential and possibly better than average attributes, over a serviceable guy who kinda is what he is, not bad necessarily but a career backup. Okay.

I'm all for getting him experience now to groom him as Ekelers penciled in replacement.
But with 4 rbs he'll likely be inactive which is fine so long as he stays. I'm pretty sure Staley has him in mind for 2024.

I can understand keeping 5 WRs, as they are all healthy now.

Me too. They are all healthy and Doss and Hightower will be available via PS when no one claims them. And Guyton will be available in 4-5 weeks if they decide they want him.

He was in PS1, they started trying him at OT after Pleasant had bad game(s)

I'm really kinda upset Bailey was released but maybe that's just my PTSD kicking in. Ever since I can remember this team has had problems on the Oline - going all the way back to Clary every year there's someone starting a game who shouldn't be out there. This team should value any serviceable lineman like GOLD!! But maybe it's a sign they've really turned the corner at that position group.

I’m gonna trust the coaches on these backup spots, they know their character, see them practice every day..just happy our starters are healthy.

Looks like we'll go with Slater, Zion, Linsley, Salyer, Pipkins. Clapp (C/ OG), Sarell (OT), McFadden (OG) and the potential if need be, move Salyer to LT.

I liked Bailey too. Hopefully we can sign him to PS.

I wonder if they will start the season with 5 WR on the roster and add Guyton as the 6th after he is medically cleared.

Guyton can come back in week 6 (our 5th game because of our early bye week) so I'm guessing that is what happens.
