I agree. I guess -we’ll never know if Dot was truly a waiver poach risk now. Its also numbers - there are 3 RBs ahead of Dot, 5 WRs ahead of Doss

One more slot to fill on the Practice Squad, so we might be done on this iteration of the Roster Build. Which means, this thread might be unstuck in the next few days going into Week 1.

No word on if Horvath will be signed to the Practice Squad. I wouldn't be surprised if he was looking to see if any other team needed a FB to sign with, but the pickings are slim. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chargers might go in a different direction, just maybe have Okoye not on the IPP exemption. Henley has no timetable, the concern is that they usually say day-to-day, so I think he might be held out for the opener.

Well, they have 15 signed to the practice squad, but they'll have two more openings if the they use the IPP exemption for Okoye, which it sounds like they are doing.

I thought the PS was for developmental types, not grizzled veterans?

The rules have changed in the last few years. It absolutely did not used to be this way.

Covington wasn't in camp with the Chargers. Was he in camp with anyone? What he is, is competent vet depth. He's a guy who'd be able to step in, in a pinch, and at least know what it is that he's supposed to do. You don't get that with most Day 3 rookies (Scott Matlock excepted), or UDFAs.

Best case scenario? Covington isn't needed, is never elevated to the 53, and never takes a snap for the Bolts in 2023..

Up to 6 players on PS can have any level of experience now. The rest are those who generally have not accrued 2 seasons of NFL experience on the active roster.

No, you're not wrong. The page is just a day or two behind. CB Amechi Uzodinma (whom I've never heard of) is listed on the practice squad, but the Chargers put him on IR on the 30th.

We signed Uzodinma as an undrafted free agent, post draft.
