Top offense now beats top defense - usually. Not every game and nothing is absolute, every game is still played with an oblong ball that bounces funny. Humans are involved. I think Staley is right in the macro philosophy that top pass defense is more important than top rush defense. League stats and results generally support this, but no rule is absolute. Eagles had a top rush offense and better defense than KC on paper. Problem is their defense on paper didn’t play KC 17 times.

We need to get from 30th to 16th and I think that is enough.

The league made that so with their stupid rules. The rules are definitely geared to the offense but a great defense will still win you games and get you in the playoffs.

impact plays. You do t have to be a top rushing team or top defense but there are gotta have it moments in games. A handful of them. And it would help tremendously if you can make those plays.

We made impact plays in every game. Ws and Ls, We won more than we lost.
A consistently dead 3rd quarter offense was our biggest downfall under OC Lombardi.
We can't come out flat on offense after halftime every damn game. But we did.
That's a MONSTER play! A hugely negative one.:facepalm1:
