Believe it or not, the Chargers aren’t officially eliminated from the playoffs. They can win the division and be the #4 seed if the following happens

It’s as simple as that 😏

Or you draft OT Joe Alt, Olu Fashanu or Troy Fautanu and with Slater at LT that could definitely give us good bookend tackles, and everything else inside could be worked out!

I hope Dean is more involved. I think JohnBoy feels threatened by somebody with a lot of experinc in player personel and asst GM qualifications. He needs to swallow that hard and get on the winning program and realize he isnt it.

Who cares what John thinks at this point his track record is dreadful! He needs to hire Jim Harbaugh and learn, that's the only move he can make going forward anything less is unacceptable!

I believe the same. I was going to write a long post about this. He probably wanted no part of Sean Payton. He is probably intimidated by genuine hardcore coach/GM, especially if they are former players. Since elevating him "president" of the football operations, the Chargers have never won the division and have three wildcard berths, but have never advanced past the divisional round. I've read that it was John Boy who became enamored with Staley, I can see it, they are a lot of alike. Dean and his brother, who control the majority shares of the team, must realize John Boy is in over his head, the franchise became such a shiite show under his watch. I doubt they are going to demote or remove John Boy. But, like you, I do hope Dean becomes more involved and hires someone like Harbaugh who will demand complete control. John Boy can still have his title and his office and draw a paycheck, but he needs to be subordinate to the coach/GM.

but the chargers need Oline and Dione. Build it up

trade back get a top ten pick and another 3rd - maybe leverage a team wanting QB or WR to still get OL

This. Should be our strategy going forward with any new HC/GM combo.

Lack of cash? They just spent over $270M for a new training facility. When you have a franchise worth upwards of $5B there is no shortage of available cash.
