    2. Staley is not a bad human. He does care. He wants to keep showing up (as bad as that is) for his players. He also has pride.
    3. Staley knows that he already made a couple bad mistakes in pressers lately. The kind of mistakes that hurt your future career. He is going to be on his best behavior.
    4. Knowing he is going to be fired makes it easier to field chippy questions from Popper.
    5. I don't agree with this, but Staley may feel he is the victim of circumstances and none of this is his fault. I think he really believes he gets better every day.

I think Staley is probably a good guy and wanted to do well. Just maybe wasn't mature enough to handle the job

Josh McDaniels got a job many years ago with Denver and took him over 10 years to get another job

Not my place to say that Staley should not have taken the HC job with the Chargers - you only have so many options. But, he probably would have been better served if it had happened maybe after a few years of being the DC; maybe having the defense go from very good to roster turnover and building it back up again. Hindsight is easy but Staley just didn't have the experience to handle the job. That was obvious. Hence, the Spanii hopefully have learned this about hiring. As I say, having adversity (being kicking in the g-nads and coming back from it) - usually helps in ones career.

                    If

you guys get a new hc I am against picking up the idea of dan quinn
                    for following reason

i was about to say Steve spanolo because it would also force them to get a new dc ( why aren’t other teams picking him up, it took so long for someone to pick up bienemy)

but the thing is spagnolo is complimented by a good offense, which gives him a favorable prejudice

so that wouldn’t be a good handicap of defensive prowess

instead we would need to find a dc that has a strong defense on a team that has a shitty offense. It would prove that independent of the offense, that the defense is in good shape

And the Spanii need to quit falling for that cheap trap of the hot coordinator.

The guy made around $12 million in his 3 years here and has another $4 million coming to him next year. He can literally retire in comfort for the rest of his life. I do not feel sorry for him.

A lot of us here would like that paid vacation for a year. He will be ok as a defensive coordinator on another NFL team. He's not totally incompetent and we paid for his training wheels for 3 years...
