Draft Edge with one of our first rounders.
I would kill for Seattle's 20 and 84 for Joey!!!! I would kiss TT's feet if he could pull that off!

Back to reality - extend Allen now for the best deal you can make - getting us under the cap, along with the generally discussed easy cuts (Feiler, Hopkins, etc), then put Both Bosa and Allen on the trading block after Mar 15 and see which one gets the most play (my preference would be to trade Bosa).

I agree with Fleet - IMO Allen has been a better player than Joey over his career, and is more valuable to Herbert and the offense than Joey is to the defense.

All of my wishful thinking above makes me CERTAIN that the Chargers will cut (not trade) Allen and restructure Bosa (of course):killme: because, that's just the way this team rolls.
    :smh:

Joey doesnt even seem like his head is in the game right now. I feel like he wants to be with his brother. Maybe we can flip him to the Niners. But even if KA is older now....his routes are still so good that he brings out the best in JH. And we are moving to another scheme again so why add the bonus of making it more difficult not having your most trustworthy route runner?

And yes im on board totally with a speed WR in the 1st 2 rounds. Adding a guy like Josh Downs to KA/MW would be crazy. But we probably need to use a 1 or 2 on him and also an OT. Looking at TE also. I can come up with some pretty nice mocks in rounds 1/2/3 with WR/TE/OT. Just set the offense already. I expect we are good at the RB position.

I know the D was so bad that many are looking there in the draft. Im not opposed...but im also just not a fan of Staley and his ability to create a studly D. My god he was just given so many new players on D this past offseason. And what about Woods? Did we waste a 3rd? He has to be part of the plans. JC should get schemed right. The 2 DTs will grow. Healthy Joey and Mack. Tranquil and Callahan could come back.

Im just in the mood to really launch this offense to the moon with this new OC and our gunslinger. There are only a couple dudes in the league who can throw like he does. I want 35 a game offense.

Hell yes, Allen deserves to have a shot at joining a Super Bowl contender. It’s a win, win. He has been great but chargers need to get younger.

I will miss him in powder blues, but he is and will always be a class act.

remember, our HC is a defensive guy. He doesn’t care about the offense dominating.

No way we get much out of any trade if teams know we're in a cap casualty situation.

this topic breaks my fucking sports heart.

Hoping we can pull off a miracle and have Allen and Bosa for 2023.

          Cut Feiler, Everett, Hopkins
          K9 if that helps

Restructure Bosa even if it means more years, same with Allen, I have a feeling both have plenty of great football left.

It is painful but almost inevitable. It is Slayer now, Herb's contract now, instead of failing to retain Slater later.

Moore's offense calls for a variety of weaponry. I see RBs, TEs and a strange crop of WRs who can help us win.

I expect Bosa to train very hard with kid DPOY, like Joey says he will. This will make him attractive in a trade or a stretched out new contract. The EDGE class is very, very deep.

I wonder if we can do something helpful with JC. Who knows what, but there are CBs early middle and late to augment depth with STs Ja'Sir and Deane.

The key is leadership, culture and absorption of StaleyD concepts. It is about choices, difficult choices, but choices that WILL be made.

Yes, we know, that’s what we’re all talking about.

I do wonder about Bosa’s trade value, he can make plays but is he a game changer? Is our D that much more successful with him in there? Better, sure, but not over the top. Other teams must see that as well. Plus there’s the mini headcase thing, I mean would you trade for a player who just cost his team a playoff game cuz of a stupid non-contact penalty?

I’ll take a second round pick and be happy moving forward (new player plus cap savings).

If we have any trade value on defense it Dewin James. I would look to trade him. If we trade him and Cut Allen, we could always offer Allen same amount or more that his best offer is in FA.

obviously we could be stuck with JC contract, but he could make a bounce back.

His contract isn't tradable due to the dead cap it would create for us.
But ya I agree, he should be considered.
probably would net us the biggest return and we've already shown we can play without him.

Imo, so long as staley is HC, James stays.

I agree with you Fleet. I would hate to see him go. One of my favorites. Besides he was wide open in the end zone during the second half of playoff game and Herbert missed him with an overthrow. That play if successful would have won the game.

Who on defense would have the biggest help on cap. On top of that do you think Suh from eagles would be a good fit in Dollars and scheme for 1 year. (Assuming he is available) It does feel like we were all in this past season.

at what price would Allen stay on 3yr restructure. I’m sure does not trust FO and would want lots upfront.

I really don’t know Jack about Jack when it comes to funny football moneys. But Allen deserves a fair pay.
