Moving money around for Bosa - thats fine. He is 27 or 28. Thats one player. But when I read for Linsley and Jackson and Mack and Bosa and Allen - I think thats just going to get you in trouble.

The Saints are more than $55M over the 2023 salary cap. Here's how they free up $80M (espn.com)
really don't see how you are so sure that extending Bosa is a sound biz decision, and yet you are hell bent on disowning Keenan.... how in the world do you justify halving his salary ??

what has he done to merit that ?? hell, what has he done to you.... ??

and besides Mack and Allen, the best extension/rework their contracts candidates are Ekeler, Mike D. and Feiler.

We also have to come to grips that Herbert has yet to show he is THE guy, and pushing more money to the future only hinders the possibility of being able to pull a HARD reset after 2024 should Herbert fizzle out and Staley/TT are finally gone. The x factor in all this is what happens with Dean vs Dea. Would be nice for the incoming front office (and new owner????) to have some $$ to work with after 2024.

This is where having a good, creative GM could help navigate some of these rough seas. Or at least draft well.
again, am completely baffled.... what more does Herb need to do to show that he is an all world talent after just three years ?? dude has set the record books on fire....

So basically you are taking the Saints approach to roster building and cap management. It is one way to do it.

I am not hell bent on disowning anybody. I just look at the cap, look at the negative (the number in red) and try to turn it into a positive (a number in black) and looking at not only the 2023 season but the 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons.

If you think Keenan Allen is worth 19m of cash this year - thats fine. I don't .

The thing is that was his best year ever. I and most feel that is his ceiling. I don't foresee a "break out" season ahead. He's shown he is a serviceable TE not much more.

You must of been high as hell when writing this. Fizzle out? What has given you any indication that he will fizzle? Has Josh Allen fizzled? Joe Burrow?

What a head scratching comment. Herbert has the most upside of any QB in the league. It's the pieces around him that are fizzling.

Chicago has been a good NFC trade partner in the past (Mack)
they have tons of cap space.
A 3rd down talent like KA should be invaluable to Fields.
get what you can, our offense will adjust like all system do.

No more cupcakes on offense, give me 11 guys with Austin Ekeler's posie and attitude. Less divas, more tough guys.

The Bears were the first team I thought of in trading for Allen
they have the Ravens 5th round pick
They have the Eagles 4th round pick
They have cash to spend to meet the CBA rolling 4 year spending set forth
Like you said, KA would help Fields as he tries to improve
also out of the AFC so certain teams cannot get him if released

I would take the Bears own 4th rounder for sure - but probably the Eagles 4th rounder if need be

I think Indianapolis with Shane Steichen coming on as head coach knows what Keenan Allen could bring to the table with their new QB they will select in April. Let the Colts trade for, extend and restructure Keenan's contract, and let him team with WR2 Michael Pittman.

Either way - he wasn't going back to Houston
And you cannot compare the careers of Allen and Watt - one is a first ballot HOFer; the other has been a very good NFL player
I did Google it because I wasn't sure and it said his contract expired

My point is always that in their 30s, they were productive while some say he is done and others say he is now going to be injury prone because he is in his 30s.

That is yet to be seen and isn't the usual reason for players in their 30s being released. It's losing skill or speed along with contract,....which we have seen the first two isn't happening to Keenan.

The one stat that stood out to me when showing his rankings in those last 8 games was he was 5th in YAC with 255.

Who are you going to replace Keenan with on the Chargers’ roster?

Unfortunately, some teams may be scared off from signing Bosa due to his juvenile behavior resulting in bonehead penalties that helped the Jags beat us in the playoffs...gotta wonder...is there more of that to come? No doubt he'll land SOMEWHERE though...
