    re: Popper,

am not pushing any money into the future w/the neither of Bosa nor MW, and as shared previously in another thread.... ditto for Linsley as well.

I am interested in doing just the such w/the both of Keenan and Khalil, and.... there is no dead cap for either one of 'em if they are on the roster and contributing heartily as some of us would suspect.

if I'm trading anyone, it's not Allen and it would be Bosa, as am not letting the bean counters here make my football decisions for me, if I'm our FO braintrust.

and Keenan "derailed" our "roster vision" 'bout as much as JC Jack, Bosa, Slater and Herbert, not to mention 3/4s of our Dline, MW & Jaylen ++

and have no interest in resigning the neither of Trey nor Drue, and might consider it a blessing if the latter signs elsewhere, and.... cutting Everett makes just about as much sense as moving on from KA. where you peoples figure on replacing our WR1, TE1 and the rest o' the lot that you're jettisoning outta town is beyond me.... repeat: how has team Tommy John done w/their first round picks in the 20s of late ?? not to mention their picks after the 5-0 round two ?? !!

my thought is unchanged.... you guys missed the boat w/diversifying the roster and adding depth, when you decided it was a must to extend MW.... take your medicine, and.... he ain't all that bad neither.

and do think we're gonna find a way to resign the likes of Fox, Callahan and Van Noy.

and know that it has been decided here, and roundly so, that Feiler did not and does not meet the eyeball test as of his last go 'round, and.... wondering just how bad his stats are from last season, as seem to recall not the all of his outings were jailbreaks @LG ??

and TT said that he thought they needed to find a spot for Jamaree on the Line.... is that RT ?? does Feiler somehow stay @LG, and for/until the if and when he is replaced/beat out ??

      Popper addendum,

do think Daniel is a bit on the sensational side w/things if not even a bit borderline fear mongering, as Rumph is a good indication of why we find a way to resign Van Noy.... ditto for how Ja'Sir begets the return of Bryce, and.... will add that retaining Fox is not only a priority, but the condition of some of our most counted on Dline, is reason enough for the some of us to favor the drafting of Siaki Ika.

and re: Corey, my lean is to draft a hedge this year, and a replacement next year/2024, which @this juncture, looks like it could be someone like Sedrick Van Pran, and early in the process.

also don't think we ink a new deal w/Herb 'til after the '025 season.... '023/fourth year, '024/fifth year, '025/tag, and then....

'tis D(ecision) day.... for Dea 'n Dean, and not to mention we might well have/be looking at a new HC/Jim Harbaugh, and asking what his "roster vison" might be for our SuperChargers ??

best guess is that we do end up biting the bullet, but not w/anything re: Keenan, and most likely by moving on from Joey.... ??

if for some reason we do move on from the likes of Keenan & Khalil, one thing eye'll volunteer is that 'tis prolly a near certainty that the neither of Stalesco will be gainfully employed by the LAC, and will be looking for work elsewhere.

They can't sign him for less if we tender him as a 2nd rounder and they would have to give up a draft pick. Of course that would
cost us more since as you mentioned the market for him is likely somewhat less and nobody is going to give up a 2nd for him.
So the likely outcome is what you mentioned if we want to keep him. If the low tender is around $3M (not sure) then he's most
likely ours to keep for one more year if we want and can afford him. We have something like 20 FAs and RFAs to deal with.

Here are the RFA figures. He will likely get a first right of refusal. He isn't worth paying a 2nd round tender and nobody will bite on it.

Hec I'm not sure they want to pay 2.6 mil.

We know Keenan isnt getting cut

I am open to the idea of cutting Mack actually. Yes he is still good but he isnt the impact player he used to be and is not worth 27.1 million cap hit. That one cut takes care of being 20 mil over cap right there. Get a young edge risher and wing it. Clearly a dominant defence does not seems to be in the cards even with Staley. The way to hang with the Chiefs is loading up the offence to score 35 a game.

Money Smith has been pushing hard for that approach and I fully agree. Give the franchises best weapon all the tools he needs to dominate. This defence doesnt dominate.

Can't disagree. I'd like to see him and Joey together IF Joey is staying. And I hate trading a 2nd for him for only 1 season but IDK.

He will only be here 1 more year if we keep him. I won't disagree with their decisions on this. The decisions will be tough ones.

Gordon had the worst vision and instincts I've ever seen in a RB. It's a good thing he was bull strong.

Releasing Mack before June 1st would save $18.9M in cap space, dead cap would be $9M. Post June 1st release would free up $22.9M for 2023, but leave a $4.5M dead cap for 2024. Either way would help the cap but releasing him before June 1st would leave more room to sign Herbert for 2024. But there other moves the Chargers can make, just have to wait forMarch 15th to come around. We will know more by then, although not the whole story.

                    Agree.

It sounds like they might be doing a fair but of restructuring to get cap compliant which just pushes paying the piper down the road. Cutting Mack would be one painful blow but better for the long term picture with a young franchise QB.

i like Mack i just dont think he is a 27 millin dollar player at this point.

Mack & Bosa are multipliers. If we ever get both healthy and playing together, each makes the other and the rest of the defense better.
I'd love to see that for a year.

Yes, but if either one is out for a significant amount of time we're getting zero multipliers in your equation for $55 mil per season. In other words the wheels fly off the bus anywhere during the season.

Popper pointed it out - if they push the cap to keep Bosa, Mack and Allen - that could mean less depth this year and future cap issues.

I think Telesco and Staley probably think this is the lesser of two evils to save their job.
