I said that because I looked at Moore's depth charts in Dallas and he carried no fullback on the roster. So I don't see a Horvath role in Moore's offense. He did not look good carrying the ball the few touches he got last season. He doesn't have the skill set to be an H back. So, yeah, where does he fit? He doesn't.

a horvath cut would certainly clear up the space to keep Dotson...the problem is that they insist on keeping mckitty who has basically shown nothing, but even last year mckittly was used like an Hback a few times as a lead blocking fullback, if they are keeping mckitty again which they most likely will then I don't see a reason to keep horvath unless they feel horvath is a better STs player than dotson, IDK...

in the past the chargers have cut players that popped in the preseason, the worst case I saw was cutting Wes Welker because they had traded for Tim Dwight

Well, behind Everett and Parham, who else is there at TE? Smartt? Kampmoyer? If you look at Moore's depth charts for 2021 and 2022 in Dallas:
        • He always had at least 3 TE, sometimes 4
        • He only kept 3 RBs on the roster, and no FB
        • He alternated between 2 and 3 QBs on the roster, thought I think he only had 3 when Dak was injured
If they just go with Herbert and Stick on the roster and waive Duggan, it's doubtful anybody is going to claim Duggan and they can stash him on the PS. This would open a roster spot for a 4th RB and they can keep Kelley, Spiller and Dotson.

Why is everyone assuming that Moore chose the roster in Dallas? It’s much more likely that McCarthy made those decisions

Agree but the weird thing is, he looked fast but he only ran a 4.53 at his proday. His game speed is good though and that's all that matters.

They should just outright cut Rountee. We can pick up another for the PS and Rountee has done really nothing.

Was thinking the same….I read one of his draft profiles and they said just what you wrote. His timed speed is average maybe below, but on the field he is always fast enough especially beating LB to the edge like last night.

Also agree on Rountree. Just a waste of a spot.

Thats why i dont get too caught up in 40 times. If you play fast, thats what matters more.

I think we keep 4 RBs. Ekeler, Kelley, Spiller, Dotson.

Great article, but way too many popups, here is the text.

Los Angeles Chargers athletes use their 916 connection to stay strong
Many athletes during the offseason spend their days training together to push each other and form a bond.

KCRA 3's Michelle Dapper caught up with a couple of Los Angeles Chargers players who are using their 916 connection to stay strong.

Former Del Oro High School quarterback Stone Smartt is now a tight end for the Chargers and works out frequently with teammate Elijah Dotson, a former First Team All-Big Sky running back for Sacramento State that also holds the rushing yards and touchdowns records at Antelope High School.

"Me and Dot we go way back," Smartt said. "That's what you grow up wanting, first of all, to make it but also to see your boy make it as well."

Playmakers Elite Sports Academy in Sacramento is where Dotson and Smartt both go to prepare for the upcoming football season.

They said that they appreciate the work that Mike Johnson, a trainer at Playmakers Elite, puts in with them and has put in with them for several years.

"He gives kids opportunity, kids like myself," Dotson said. " I met Mike back in high school and I've been with him ever since.

                        I'm not worried.
                        we're making room for Dotson
we're not exposinghim to waiver wire by not including him on the 53.
                        4 good backs in 2023.

Personally, I think the fear of losing UDFAs or even late round draft picks is overstated. Guys who can make an immediate impact are more likely to be poached than longer term projects. Everybody has end of the roster guys they like and don’t want to cut for guys with an unknown impact on their roster.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
                          Let’s win one for Mack.
