And agree, pass pro is a big deal for RBs.
With all the injuries the Broncos' wideouts have sustained, it's not out of the question.

A guy with Dotson's burst would be great later in the game, when defenses are gassed.

I could see him as a guy who plays most of the special teams units, and then a series worth of snaps at RB later in the game.

makes me mad when I think we could've had Kahlil Herbert instead of Rountree...Rountree is not a bust because he was only a sixth rounder but the truth is a player of his caliber does not belong on the chargers roster or practice squad at this point, maybe 4 years ago but not now and arguably he's never been NFL caliber to begin with...

that's what I would do, I don't think dotson would clear waivers...I can't wait to see him in the passing and return game which is supposed to be his bread and butter...

Dotson is a classic case of someone to runs faster than his 40 time and imo likely went undrafted because no one wants a slow AND small guy.
It took Kelley 2 years to show anything, Dotson is showing more in 1 PS game.
                he is Ekeler's replacement, period.
unless he's completely inept at pass pro, we will live with any "inconsistencies" in the run game we might see.
Every team needs a RB like him, whatever you call it, 3rd down, scatback, Ekeler was/is that guy to play that role, unfortunately had to be thrown into an RB1 role because we didn't have a true between the tackles guy.
ideally it would have been Mel Gordon and Eke as the change of pace. The future is Spiller/Dotson.
He's in, bank it and move on.

                  he's the new ekeler...

Running around the end for exciting yardage is so damn possible In preseason games against non 1st string LB’s and DB’s. Running explosively between the tackles is something else all together. Let us count the many times we enthusiastically tout certain players during preseason that end up getting cut or are relegated to the practice squad.

I doubt he's going to be inept at pass pro because he's just one of those guys, like Ek, who has a lot of personal pride and is supremely self-motivated. If he's not good at it now he will learn. He's got that mindset. He's well known in the Sac area. My eyes roll a bit when they say he's out of Northern Colo. That was the last school he attended, but he starred for two seasons at Sac State and he is Sacramento born and raised.

I disagree, at the NFL level it's NEVER easy to run around the end, even in preseason, if it was then rountree, kelley, and spiller would have been doing the last few years in preseason too.

the kid has that change of direction, jump cut, then burst that fools defenders into thinking that they have contain and angle and then he's gone, you can't teach that shit and not everyone has it...ekeler is the only other guy we've had that could do that recently...

I don't know about his pass protection ability, but his bio speaks to him having pass receiving ability and return ability, his receiving skills are one of the things that stood out from his college career.
