Do you really believe that the NFL is the only line of work that anyone can be inured in or have lasting trauma from?

Should we outlaw electrical linemen, roofers, lumberjacks? These are all very deadly jobs. You wont outlaw them because you benefit from them so keep them working. Multi millionaire football players we need to put them in bubble wrap.

The hypocrisy for this is overwhelming, not pointing out you but everyone that is in faux outrage over this issue.

I am sorry but I may be a little ignorant here, but if someone approached me with a 50 million dollar contract with a disclaimer that I could end up suffering from temporary or permanent CTE. My reply would be WHERE'S THE DOTTED LINE TO SIGN?
It is hard to keep track of how many times your argument steers off course .... or is flat out wrong.

First off, it has always been a conversation in boxing.
The notion of boxers becoming incapacitated and selling pencils on street corners is age old.
The sweet science was forbidden in certain states during more raucous times for reasons of its violence.
The only difference is, back then, they had different terms for brain trauma.

Pretending that there never was a conversation in boxing to buttress your current position is a false narrative.

Secondly, for a long time, the NFL was trying to cover up the extent of brain injuries that occurred to its players and the consequences.
Remember? They were blaming the players and their steroid usage for odd behaviors and suicides: less you forget.
They aren't exactly leading the charge now towards highlighting this issue. Deny, cover-up, and keep people in the dark is the credo of
        most owners of any industry.

Thirdly, young people are not exactly renowned for making well informed decisions.

If colleges make it mandatory for incoming freshman football players to listen to doctors and watch videos on the dangers of brain injury,
how many would continue with it?

But then you would object to that.

Fourthly, a fantastically small percentage of players are offered at any time, or have any hopes of obtaining, 50 million dollar contracts.
The risk part is great and the reward part is microscopic or non-existent.

For what reason are you continually grasping at straws and posing a meaningless resolve to sign a 50 million dollar contract from the safety of your couch?

The black and white ball curves through the sky and hits the player’s head before it soars upward again. That brief contact with the soccer ball can cause extensive damage if players are not careful, especially women. According to American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons in gender matched sports, women experience […]

Hahahah ok spin doctor. It's hard to follow or "steer off course" maybe that's due to your attention span or your ability to follow along. But thanks for the snipe shot from nowhere. The fact is your excuses are feeble. Boxing hasn't done anything. If they have it is a smoke screen to a problem they don't want to solve. why? Because they would lose. They would be bankrupt. They don't have a leg to stand on because by definition boxers are to KNOCKOUT their opponent.

Knockout: a sudden traumatic loss of consciousness caused by a physical blow. Single powerful blows to the head (particularly the jawline and temple) can produce a cerebral concussion or a carotid sinus reflex with syncope and cause a sudden, dramatic KO. (I hope you can comprehend that)

Imagine a concussion protocol in Boxing. LOL. smh. Let me know if I need to dumb that down for you. Get it yet? While the NFL spends hundreds of millions on brain injury research, boxing/mma are doing anything but. They will go through the motions but have no real intent because the bottom line it is the very foundation their sport is built upon. Shocker.

Your naivety is really impressive. You think the reward part is non-existent? Then why are they playing the game at all? Your argument/attacks are so feeble it really isn't worth the time to respond. You make assumptions and excuses for "young people". What a joke. Because like me or any other of the of millions of fans would gladly trade their situations for these athletes and the millions they are making on the backs of hard working people that are now struggling to take their families to a NFL game with a $800 weekly price tag. smh...
