I haven’t kept up, but it recently was that each team could designate up to two players to go on IR once the season started and they could play again after 6 weeks. So if that is still the case, this designation is only 4 weeks and does not impact the designated to return slots.

I believe the new rules are you can place as many players on IR as you want and recall up to 8 from it per year. I guess if the NFI-R list doesn’t count there is no need to waste a spot on IR.

        Reposting...

From a nfl.com article, the number of games a player must be held out is the same for both the in-season Reserve / Injured ('IR') and Reserve / Non-Football Injury or Illness lists. Four Games. The difference though is that NFI players are not entitled to be paid for games missed but the Team will probably figure some sort of payment. Up to 8 players can return to the active squad twice from the IR and NFI.

Did we get any clarification on this?

Was it vaccine related (am I allowed to ask this?) vs related to a previous/recent COVID infection? (Higher risk of myocarditis due to virus vs vaccine)

Congenital issue discovered in adulthood? Linsley is entitled to his privacy, just curious if anything has been disclosed.

Nobody knows other than it was a non-emergent heart issue.

The Staley regime is Belicheck like in not sharing injury info unless it is absolutely required. It is hard on us fans, but if it provides any advantage in dealing with our opponents then it is worth it

What advantage do we have not sharing what his injury is?

Beats me, Rich. But it is the only excuse I could think of for how the injury stuff is always handled by this crew. Unless maybe Linsley asked for privacy?

"Heart issue" should be good enough... We seriously don't NEED to know the specifics as fans, none of our business. I assume it was an ablasion due to Afib, but that's IMHO. Whether anything is vaccine related or not there is no way the NFL will admit that. I'd just let it go.
