    Sorensen vs Whitehurst

I know it's just back up QB but I really think that Sorensen has outplayed Whitehurst.

This kid has show some flashes of brilliance. I love the zip on his throws. He's mobile. He seems to have a good grasp of the offense. I would love to see him supplant Charlie.

Practice Squad. He will be safe there.

All Late round/UDFA's look good vs a third string D's and no defensive game plan. Tolzein is getting released soon as well (who also sucks).

Not so sure about that. Plus...this could be the guy we groom to take over when we cut Rivers next season. LOL!

Better yet, trade Sorenson to Buffalo for a 3rd.

I don't care who he's playing against. If he can run a solid offense with a bunch of scrubs playing against a bunch of scrubs then he's done his job. You can still see his ability no matter who he's playing against. Am I the only one seeing his velocity? He's got a cannon.

If we could groom him to replace rivers in a couple of years that would be HUGE. It would save a draft pick gamble or spending a ton in free agency. Simply I am just saying I see ability in this kid where Whitehurst has topped out and will never be anything more than a backup.

If we could get a 3rd for him I would take that all day. But wishful thinking they already signed Leiart.

Sorensen is a tough call. He has the tools to be a NFL QB, but not enough experience against real talent to be a true backup. Have to figure that CBJ is on limited time, just like Volek was in perpetuity. Quality QBs are always in demand, and there are too many teams looking for QB help, so putting him on waivers to get him into the PS is a huge risk. I thought Tolzien was worthy of a spot on the 53 when he was here for his cup of coffee, but when he was waived for the PS, a QB collector took him on his 53... and Harbaugh is still collecting QBs.

A 7th round pick isn't replacing Rivers. Long gone are the days of shitty scouting and a Brady dropping to the 6th round.

And cutting Tolzein as we speak.
