Michigan sinking deeper after losing Harbaugh. They also just fired their basketball coach and their head basketball trainer after he has a confrontation with the basketball HC, Juwan Howard. Love it.
Michigan football coach suspended indefinitely amid OWI investigation

Sat, March 16, 2024 at 11:35 AM PDT
Not having even yet coached a practice for Michigan football, Greg Scruggs is in a heap of trouble.

As first reported by The Detroit News’ Angelique Chengelis, Scruggs was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated in Ann Arbor just before 3 a.m. on Saturday morning. As a result, his job is certainly in jeopardy, not even a month into it.

The Michigan football program issued a statement by head coach Sherrone Moore and it appears that it is taking preliminary action. Per the statement, Scruggs is being suspended indefinitely pending an investigation into the incident.

“Greg made an unfortunate mistake and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated,” Moore said. “He made no excuses and has taken accountability for his actions. The football program and athletic department have suspended Greg indefinitely while we review details of the incident.”

For the Wolverines, spring practice is set to begin on Monday, March 18 and there’s no clear answer as to who will oversee the defensive line at the outset of the series of practice sessions.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
    The Wasted Decade is done.

They took Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and Marquis Brown w #1 picks in the past so they will take WRs high.

It looks like the BPA will be WRs at # 5 if QBS go 1,2,3. It is exciting to think of Herbert getting a Jamarr Chase or Devota Smith type star WR.

A trade back to add more picks and still get Rome Odunze , Brian Thomas, or Ladd McConkey would work too. Really excited for how this team will look this season.
And none of those WR's went higher than Quentin Johnston. Show me where they took a WR @#5. Their one time they had a high 1st round pick... they went OT.

BTW... Marquise Brown got traded (along with a 3rd round pick) to the Cards (#23). That pick turned into Tyler Linderbaum (center). Don't pretend that Hortiz values WR's over OL.

just telling Jack to "shaddup about Odunze" -- Matt is a few beers into this podcast

        Money loves Odunze
I am pretty high on Odunze also. Happy with any of the big 3. I dont think fans appreciate Odunze as miuch as NFL scouts and GMs do. He was smooth, fast and flawless in the gauntlet at combine.... big, fast, competes, blocks.

Also don't pretend that Hortiz wouldn't trade back to #11 if #11 and #23 were offered by the Vikings.
Just because TT didn't do it... doesn't mean Hortiz won't. He's even suggested that a good deal would make that happen.

Exactly right. Don't blame either party. Wish him well

He would have been fun to see on the Texans but they didn't pony up a better draft pick. Should have made it a 2024 3rd rounder.

I think he would do it in a nano second. I hope that is what happens. Dropping 6 spots and getting an extra first. Would be excellent

Take 23 and trade it for a second and third - now you are building a draft and a team. Youth, speed, a solid core

We do not need production there.

We need a deep threat for when opponents stack the box.

You really cant generalize like that.

First, they are too good of an organization to draft in the top 5

Second, this WR draft is crazy good. Hortiz talked about BPA in his combine interviews and even referred to WR. If you stick to talent and BPA there are 3 WRs that will go very very high in this draft and 20-25 WRs that wil go in the top 100.

I would make the case that MHJ, Nabers, Odunze are the best non QB players in this draft. DJ agrees as he has them ranked 2, 3, 4 overall.

If you stay at 5 - you take talent

If you drop to 11 and 23 with the hoped for trade with the Vikings - you can walk a finer line with BPA/Filling a need. But at 5 - it has to be all about friggin talent. Plus, the Chargers are in a position where they need everything so that won't be a problem. Take the talent or if the Vikings are calling, get the picks

And if they feel that good about the pick at 5 and don't trade back - thats good too.

                      Yeah it's good stuff.

I like Odunze as well but would prefer a trade down and Bowers but whatever way they go I'm cool with it as long as they don't off the rails.

If that is the kind of contract they can get for Perryman - thats smart.
They are building a bridge team to get through this season with a bunch of Kate McKinnon Barbie's. Hurst, Perryman, Bosa. None could stay healthy.

Very few. One of his biggest knocks here was he was injured too often. He’s played 12 games the last 2 years, since that first full season at LVR where he go pro bowl.
