I honestly don't know either. It's just frustrating that the problem they had last year is carrying through to this year. Maybe it's both. Hortiz/Harbaugh need to do some soul searching this offseason.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

I think Tom Brady had it right. Lengthen the muscles, as opposed to shortening them.Originally posted by Riverwalk View PostMaybe there’s too much strength and conditioning.

5 games into the season, I’ve never seen anything like this before.

Yep...imagine if the Titanic would have just stayed in port...Originally posted by captaind View PostA healthy Chargers team is second to none. The best way to stay healthy is to avoid further injury. And the best way to do that is to not play football.
So if we just stop playing football, there's no limit to what this team can accomplish.

This dude came in off the bench for the Jags in the 2nd half and helped lead them to victory. I thought he looked pretty decent out there. Maybe not a long-term solution, but would've been worth taking a flyer on in the 6th or 7th round. Definitely looked better than our OL backups and (cough, cough) Bozeman.

Soul searching in the off-season? No. They better be searching up their asses right now to resolve issues. Isn't that why they make big bucks? If they can't protect the QB they better be searching for new gigs. Because right now, they have no answers.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View Post

IMHO, there's not much they can do this year except weather the storm and hope it clicks. After listening to Harbaugh, they aren't going to budge on Boz unless something catastrophic happens. I think the issue is they don't have anyone better and that is really scary. They are just going to ha e to rebuild the IOL in the offseason.Originally posted by PowderBill View Post

Which should've been the #1 priority LAST SEASON after the Texans obliterated our line in the playoffs.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View Post

It was a patchwork job at best. Sticking and staying with Bozeman was the biggest head scratcher. He's simply not a starting-caliber C. They hemmed and hawed that there wasn't anyone better available in FA and that it was a weak draft for C. Yet, Monheim the 7th-round rookie came in cold off the bench on MNF and played pretty well against the KC DL in the 2nd half. Would've been nice to have someone like that as a backup.

Well, if you take the view that this was a 3–4-year project you can't fix everything in one year. With how weak the draft and FA market was last year they decided to go in a different direction and built/strengthen other areas. Can't really fault them for that. I will be absolutely shocked if they don't rebuild IOL next year through the draft and FAncy.Originally posted by KrazyLegs View Post

I admit, all during last season, I thought the top priorities were WR. TE OG and OG. And in that order - I wanted a game breaking WROriginally posted by KrazyLegs View Post

Once the end of the season rolled around and of course the Texans game, it flipped - OG and OC for sure followed by WR and TE
Becton was a late FA signing for cheap and they kept Boze, didn't upgrade Zion
Come the draft - second round, Harris over Ratledge
5th round - after drafting Harris mind you - KLS over Frazier
The Lions got both of them. Good teams never quit building the OL.
I think this Sunday I would go
Salyer, Zion, James, Becton, Bobby Hart if Pipkins can't go
I don't need to see Deculus
Maybe even go 6 OL and not just Matlock and Fisk
