Bosa and Mack made it very clear they wanted to play for Harbaugh and be part of the solution to help salary cap mess and build something special here, Keenan prioritized every cent of his money, so be it. Maybe Keenan just didn't want to play for Harbaugh, in a balanced offense where the ball wasn't force fed to him in a predictable, plodding offence.

Good management that wins make the hard decisions when need be. Like taking this mess from 50 million over cap to 39 million under cap so they can move forward ina cap healthy place for 2024, 2025 and beyond. You do that by not being afraid to move on from 32 year old players with 34 million dollar cap hits.
Yeah, poor Keenan. Had he agreed to a restructure, I can imagine him looking at his paycheck stub and wondering: "How am I gonna feed a family on a paycheck like this?!".

I suspect Hortiz was VERY straightforward, including that a deal needed to be done promptly.

      The rest sounds like semantics.

      The agent sounds like an AGENT . . . . . . . . . . .

        You can if you replace him with another receiver who can match his output . . . . . . . . . . which is the plan. Stop shitting your pants and wait 5 months . . . . . . .

2 months...we'll know a helluva lot more after the draft.

I think Allen is a great receiver and probably seen enough of the chargering. It’s clear to me that he doesn’t believe Chargers will make It past KC to get to a Super Bowls in his few years left. He wisely took the money on a the Idea he will be a FA and control his destiny….and then take a pay cut on a possible contender.

how Ironic would it be he plays for KC in his final years and wins a Super Bowl.

I Think he seen enough from The Baffooery that TT put Rivers Through

Chiefs traded their CB for a future 3rd round pick

Why? Because Veach and Reid know they have to plan around not just 2024 but the future

Good for Allen - he is getting paid

I still say it was the right move for both parties

With that 23m the Chargers didn't have to leverage the future while also being able to fill a number of holes

It does leave a void at WR - no question. But thats the reality of the team and cap situation

                      harbaugh is savage though

Yes it was probably one of those rare occasions where both sides were right. Keenan as the longest tenured Charger coming off one of his best seasons and getting closer to the end than the beginning wanting to earn as much as he can and the Chargers recognizing the holes in their roster and wanting extra money to fill the holes.

I just listened to that quote from his interview this morning and it does not come out as sounding snarky when you hear him say it. More like what jamrock says, about doing what is right for both sides.
