Bozeman is a far better player than Clapp and has been over his entire career. He is a great one year signing. He can start and play center or either guard for the Chargers immediately. He is an upgrade over last year (post Linsley), he is cheap, he is a known quantity, and he is supposed to be a leadership/good lockerroom, team first guy.

The Panthers liked him enough to re- ink him for three years. I am not sure how much to read into last year because of the rookie QB, the musical chairs of awful guards flanking him all season, the change to a new blocking scheme that is really the worst possible fit for his skills, and the team firing the HC fairly early in the season.

There is only one Linsley, so if we are expecting him to equally replace him and at $3M to boot, we are going to be disappointed.

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

        LOL!
Clapp played in front of 6-6 strong armed top 5 QB Herbert.

Bozeman played in front of 5-10 rookie QB Young who held the ball too long, too often.

For all the rips this guy could wind up being a very good signing I sure hope so. I’m a little surprised by all the negativity in here and it’s clear what Horitz and Harbaugh are doing and our depth has been shit for years. They’re cleaning up a huge mess with little cap space. I trust these guys until I don’t and I think we’re a long ways away from that.

Wait till we get the play-action happening off all the smash mouth running we’ll be doing. Bozeman will be great.

Folks are seriously underestimating our OL:

                Slater: double high-ankle sprain
                Zion: no Lindsay
                Bozeman: bad scheme
                Salyer: wrong position
Pipkins: well, four outta five ain’t bad. But - as much as I rag on him, I do have hopes for Pip in Roman’s O, he’ll always need help against an EDGE with their ears pinned back, sure. He’s not completely untalented and has worked hard and I’m hoping in a power running scheme he can use his abilities better. A lot of our passing attack should be coming off play-action, and that should help disguise his limitations.

I can see a mauling OG drafted to fight for a spot, pushing Salyer outside, then he and Pip fight for that spot, loser being swing. Not bad at all.

I just do not remember Blaise Winter at all. At least I usually remember somebody when I see the name, but not his.
Blaise Winter had been a 2nd round draft pick of the Colts, and played his college ball at Syracuse. All motor, not very bog, and average tools, but played really hard.

Chris Jones and Christian Wilkins love our new center.

No offense. But is the sacks count all we're going on to judge if a player is good or serviceable?
