Don’t be sad dmac. When the Chargers clinch a playoff spot, This Year, we can all gather for a group hug. Facts don’t stop the haters, whether QJ or who ever.
A ‘fact’ the board keeps over looking….. As crappy as the Chargers were last year, roster composition, coaching, and injuries, it was a kick to the nuts every game.
The team lost 7 games last year by THREE points or less. If healthy, the additions of Harbaugh and company should flip most of those types of games. Plus, think I read we had one of the easier schedules this coming year.
I actually saw QJ open a lot and by a wide margin. I think maybe he lost some confidence in himself and Herbert lost confidence in him a bit and also for whatever reason, Moore did not call plays that really emphasized his strengths (like shallow crossers) or that would have built up his confidence. I am very hopeful he can turn this around.

I’ll say it again - QJ was a year too early into the pros. Consider him our 4th rookie WR, look at his college tape.
Aside from experience and speed, I think the other reason they signed Chalk was because they dont really have an X receiver to play outside. The 3 now are Chalk, Rice and Johnson, 2 of which are 7th round rookies
Ill believe that when i see it. I believe that would be a first for Roman (4 WR sets) but he has never had Herbert so we'll see. Wouldnt mind it actually on occasion.
Competitors welcome! Let's get it on and see who rises to the top... no favorites, no free passes. Make them work for it. That can only bring out the best in all of them.
Hortiz said he'd get a WR in the draft and a WR in free agency. He kept his word. There's a plan.
Rice and Johnson in the 7th were BPA type picks... no indication of being desperate @WR. Just smart moves.
In the end, they will all have more time (finally elite OT's) to do their work. Running the ball effectively... and throwing off play-action... benefits every single WR. Those that have speed, can finally do work downfield. No more limited, pop-gun offense.
Don't let it get you down. QJ can change everyone's mind with his play.
Look on the bright side. We can put ourselves in situations where QJ does not need to convert 3rd and long to put games away. Rather put him in favorable position to convert 2nd and shorts. Hopefully convert into 20 yard plays this year.
