Many wory about Ford being gone, but Pat Kirwin talked about him awhile back.... Kirwin said the reason Ford keeps moving around NFL even though he is a great effort guy, team player, etc.... he just is not big enough to be a wall that can shut down a running game... every team tries to get bigger.....

Chargers now are a team that knows that football is a big mans game and is why we want a giant OL and a giant DL, big powerful RB's, Big WR's.... big TE's.... etc.....big DB's....etc...
6-1, 340 Caldwell is the DL bearing the greatest physical resemblance to Poona. It's probably too much to ask of a rookie to replace him. But we can hope.
Tart is my guess for our top DL. Run stops and pressures but.....there are a good group. Competition in OTAs and TC should be strong.

agree.... Chargers tried to keep Puna, but even of they did, they would have still drafted another big/bigger DT with run stuffing and pass rushing ability ....
You can never have too many DL/pass rushers.....

Eagles are several guys deep at most positions....

The manning Giants had 4 great DL's but still drafted others as rotation depth and future starters, so they always had fresh pass rusners...

Ive played every position on a fiootball field.... not that I was great at anything , but I understand how demanding some positions are.... pass rushing and playing CB are very demanding endurance wise.... because you spend alot of effort that goes nowhere... haveing DL depth is very important!

Just telling you what Pop thinks..
I would guess the week 1 lineup WR is MW at X, Ladd in the slot and QJ at Z

Yeah, that is what I think as well.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!

Probably correct for the first few games...but I think Tre comes in at Z for a few snaps here and there at first...then, if production increases (likely), I think we see his snap count go up...we shall see...

Makes sense. It will depend on how fast he progresses on his route tree and blocking and MW staying health, of course. With how we are going to try and run people over, the WR run blocking will be a big deal.

Agreed! I also think Tre will be taking snaps at X to keep MW fresh as well. I also think they will have a nice rotation with the top 5 guys in Ladd, MW, QJ, T. Harris and KLS. With Ladd coming off the field the least out of the bunch.

A trade I wouldn’t mind see them doing for a late round pick is for Evan Neal and plug him in for competition at LG. Even if they don’t, he is a player I can see them targeting in the offseason to come in and compete at the LG position next year.

Glad to see I'm not the only one still pounding the table for vet G depth...

We know *this* about Joe Hortiz: He is a highly skilled dumpster diver, when it comes to salvaging useful players from the NFL's discard pile. IMO, he shines in this regard.

Does Joe Hortiz know where his team would be best served by acquiring additional depth? (That's a rhetorical question.)

He's not even close to done with bringing UFAs in for a close look, and there will be plenty of roster movement (cuts) around the league as the summer progresses. I'm not quite understanding the fearfulness that the 2025 roster build is complete. Pretty sure it's *not*.

Y is traditionally used for TE, not slot.

Teams call the slot receivers H, F or R (usually), depending on how/what they do with the TE (flexed out) FB and Hback (receiving motion TE). Listening to Julian Edeleman tell Pats stories, he mentions that he was getting on the field as a H receiver.

                        That could be the key.
                        I would love that !

I don't think this roster is close to being done. I think JH2 want to see OTAs this weekend and training camp to fully assess what they have. Like can Kennard play ST enough or will Tuli need to play ST which means signing extra depth at Edge. How is the OL rotation working. CB rotation

Still plenty to be decided. But this team has probably more depth than any I can recall

I mean, having Trey Pipkins as your back up OT -- note - I do not want Pipkins starting at LG - but back up OT - -we all have seen worse. Much worse
