I take Bosa at his word that he'd like to retire here, especially with the coaching staff and direction the team is going. But you know that if he leaves, he will want to go to the 49ers to play with his brother. Just not sure if the 49ers would be interested in an expensive, aging, injury prone player. We'd have to eat a lot of contract.

There will be lots of "talking" this week in public places - like restaurants, the concourse at Lucas Oil and there will be private conversations in hotel rooms -- Hortiz is just trying to see what kind of market there is for JBB before he is released.
I believe these guys are pros and they don't give away important information about anything that could later affect their negotiating positions. they are obviously well aware of the guesses and predictions about Bosa, the entire world predicts he will be cut. they gain nothing by admitting now that this is their plan.
"its realistic" could just be Joe keeping his hole card face down, trying to sucker someone back into the pot. there's no actual commitment in that statement at all.“Less is more? NO NO NO - MORE is MORE!”

If we cut him, he still costs us 10 million or so...correct?
maybe we trade him to a team and give them that 10 million cash and we get a better draft pick than via comp pick?

Or how bout this. Eat 6 MIL, Bosa goes to SF and the 2 teams swap their 2nd and 3rd round pick positions.
From 55 to 43 and 86 to 75.
I don’t really care for this idea but it could be an option if they see a guy they think will be there.

No idea whats going to happen but im confident they will make the OL right.
I hope to win 3rd and short, 4th and one @ 90% of the time, or better. A clean QB pocket for 2 seconds plus. No gaps up the middle please.

Chargers can release him and would save $25m of cap space. So the Chargers do not need to eat anything

Right, if he is released - there is $11m of dead cap. That $11m counts whether he is on the roster or not -- there is not savings for the Chargers. They are on the hook for that $11m
