noooo....they play same position only Ladd is much faster and better in every way.....we have a decent WR group now and will add one or 2 young fast guys in draft.... no need to add so-so old guys......if we add an old guy, needs to be an elite future HOF type like Adams..... but we did not get him, so we signed the best X we could have signed ... MW....team needs to get younger and faster.... no need to keep adding old guys on the downside....

And this offseason, I think even more than last shows JH2 are trying to build the roster enough with bridge players so they can start using the draft to get the REAL talent
Renfrow would be worse than Allen to sign

Can we please just bring in a young top talent WR that doesn't drop passes left and right and can grow in our Offense with Herbert passing to him, while at the same time drafting one of the top TE's so our O doesn't look like it did last season, and we can have more than one weapon out there!Originally posted by La Costa Boy View PostA guy I have always loved, and hated it when he plays against us is Hunter Renfrow. Could you imagine both him and Ladd on the field together......it would be chaos for a defense.

first five rounds, maybe four
Hortiz will get TE, WR and RB
RB - Hampton would be ideal to pair with him as well as Henderson
TE: Loveland. Popper likes Taylor
WR: TMac, Higgins, maybe Poppers pick from CSU
But those three positions will be addressed. Popper wouldn't mention it and mock it if he didn't think it wasn't going to happen

All good! I'm just not feeling creating a team full of older bridge gap players anymore. Let's once and for all get legit young weapons to develop here for the next 5 years of Herbert's career. I heard Jefferson our safety was talking about bringing a 39 year old player here. Ugggg. No thank you.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

I do not think in 1st round we will draft
- DT, just watched Justin Eboigbe tape (to refresh) and he has motor, gives that pass rush from middle, if true that staff still high on him that imho take position off in 1st on top of that it's deep class.
- RB, deep class and again I would be happy having JK back after draft, Harris - Dobbins has potential to be the best 1-2 punch in Chargers history?
- TE possibly both TE gone if we do not trade up for Warren who is such a good football player and fits this team like a glove we not taking any other TE at 22.
- OT position is set for us, we do not even need swing one having Pipkins, drafting one would be luxury we should not take.
- LB - same as OT
- S - we had good chemistry atm no need to add in 1st
Who could we draft:
- CB - that is my fav position for us to pick as players could slide to us. IF Johnson or Barron are there we pull trigger, both perfect for zone schemes. (Possible trade up)
- EDGE - super deep class and position of need I can see us taking edge in 1st but that is imho position we pick in 2nd or 3rd.
- WR - massive drop after top 2 players if somehow McMillan slide we will get him but no other WR who will be on the board is worth the pick.
- OG - I am not against in 1st but from Salary cap standpoint the above position it is better to have any other from positions above.
To sum up if we will not trade up for Warren I think CB is the most logical pick for us (even with trade up) as top2 are perfect fits for Minter and would cemented (barring injuries) CB room for next 3-4 years.
Edge and WR are very possible depends how board will set.
Go Bolts.

I saw part of that Guilty as Charged podcast and it was Calais CampbellOriginally posted by electricgold View Post

Now post draft - -that is when you bring in veterans on one year deals if you strike out in the draft. But Hortiz has done enough in free agency that he can go for the talent in draft
Looking at Rounds 1-5 - since 6th and 7th are flyers
Say Hortiz gets Edge, WR, TE, RB and IOL --- okay that is maybe when you sign a Campbell for depth to get through the year. Not the long term solution
But I agree, I want some young weapons with juice. I get why Hortiz is bringing in bridge players. It is allowing him the chance to draft the longer term players

agree....but priority one is an elite TE that will lead this offense for over a decade.... the 2 best receivers in thios draft are the top 2 TE's...... Lovelands ability to get open against any kind of coverage is elite.... he cannot be covered.... NONE of the WR's arw elite......... there are some good WR's., in the draft but not elite....Originally posted by electricgold View Post

if we drafted a top WR, we will let him go after 4-5 years because we cannot afford to pay elite WR's..... the elite TE is the least expensive skill player on a football team.... and elite ones are very RARE.... Chargers have not had one since Gates, who was nearly unstoppable....and clutch.... WR's are a dime a dozen according to Walsh......

I don't necessarily agree with the part about paying elite WRs. I think if Hortiz drafts one and turns iut to be Justin Jefferson, they would pay himOriginally posted by Charge! View Post

That said, I do agree that the top two "receivers" are Warren and Loveland and TE is so much cheaper than WR
Aside from Abdul Carter, I think Warren might be the player I would want most in this draft if the Chargers could get anybody. I think my top 3 are Carter, Warren, Graham. Duh, top 4 - Hunter too
But Warren seems out of reach - Loveland doesn't. It would be ideal if he fell to 22
My group at 22 is Loveland, McMillan, Hampton, Golden and Harmon.
