true..... that is the thing with signing or extending a great player..... if we sign Linderbaum for record money, and week one he blows out a knee, or whatever... we are immediately back to square one..... like drafting a great OL like Alt.... or giving Slater big money..... teams also have to have some luck?..... one thing to remember is signing McGovern instead of linderbaum would give us a similar quality player and a huge upgrade over boseman, but will also allow us to sign an additional starter such as OG?Originally posted by Bolts4ever213 View PostI trust the front office to do all that they can do, to get this team right. You can do what you think is right, but sometimes injuries happen. Waiting for the move they are planning, is killing all of us. But when we signed Jim, I assumed it would take time. As they say, turn the worm is still in the process… worm never turns. Building the team, with this front office is a better option, then we have ever had.
guys cant keep getting hurt forever......... it has to end sometime.....
building s balanced team that has at least solid starters and solid depth is the only way to be prepared for or survive some of these injuries...... we cannot have OL who are turnstyles and allow jail breaks!....like Herbert has had to put up with.....
I think we had so many badly managed years that it takes a few years to turn things around.... and we have made HUGE improvements each of last 2 years... I expect another step up this offseason!

Because we have far greater needs at 22 and that is our only pick he will be there.Originally posted by Boltnut View Post
Jeremiah just mocked us Sadiq at 22 though to give MM another option. Sadiq could be fun and deadly with some of McDaniel's short passing concepts and to have 2 serious weapons at TE

Are the Chargers going to pick up the 5th year option on QJ? He's gonna cost $4.5M this season. That will jump to a projected $15.9M if they exercise his 5th year (2027). They have to make the decision by May 1.

Would you trade for AJ Brown for a 3rd and 6th rnd 2026 pick and the Chargers receive AJ Brown and 2027 7th rnd pick?1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Personally I would not. We need every dollar for the lines and edges and I think his best days are well behind him.Originally posted by Chargers8491 View PostWould you trade for AJ Brown for a 3rd and 6th rnd 2026 pick and the Chargers receive AJ Brown and 2027 7th rnd pick?

That, plus... He's just not a guy I'd want in my locker room. The kind of human being that he is? I don't see that fitting in with what the Chargers are building under Jim and Joe. Tyreek would be more likely to be a distraction, IMO.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Hope not
Coming off the injuries
his game was in decline

When the Chiefs offloaded Tyreek, they had a deal worked out to trade him to the Jets. Tyreek nixed the trade because he wanted to go to a team in a state with favorable income tax laws. Like, Florida, for example.Originally posted by YAC View Post
Catch up!?
I was discussing this over the weekend, served w/a fresh slice of key lime pie.
It's quite unlikely, but still worthy of consideration. The question will be:- Medicals /age
- Character concerns
- Did McDaniel's time with Tyreek completely sour him on the guy, or is Mike still open
- Price. If the price is over $10-12 mil I don't see us having any interest at all.

California is *not* one of those states with "favorable income tax laws".
Maybe that matters less to him than it used to. We may find out.

Mack is the more situational guy now. The contract he got for '25- significantly less than what he was paid to play in '24- was a reflection of that.Originally posted by electricgold View Post
If we go all in on Oweh and pay him what he'll demand, he simply takes over for Mack and we say goodbye to Mack.
You don't pay Oweh the big contract to be a situational rusher. You pay him to be your starter, and you draft one DE in the first three rounds.

I asked grok about any possible injury concerns with Tyler Linderbaum"
Yes, there are some injury concerns surrounding Tyler Linderbaum as he approaches unrestricted free agency (he's a pending free agent after the Ravens declined his fifth-year option, and extension talks have stalled).
Recent reports (from mid-February 2026) highlight "underlying medical concerns" in league circles about his history, per NFL insider Jason La Canfora. These concerns are cited as one factor (alongside cap space issues and his undersized frame for the position) why the Ravens haven't agreed to a big extension, despite him being a three-time Pro Bowler and a top performer at center.
His known injury history includes:- A foot injury as a rookie in 2022 (initially reported as a Lisfranc sprain but later deemed less severe; he missed minimal time).
- Ankle issues in 2023 (missed a couple of games early in the season).
- A soft tissue injury in training camp 2024.
- A back issue late in 2024.
- A knee concern mentioned in December 2025 reports (limited participation).
He hasn't had major, season-ending injuries recently, and he's played full seasons or near-full in recent years (e.g., 17 games in his most recent listed season). The concerns seem more about the accumulation of nagging/soft-tissue/lower-body issues over time rather than one catastrophic event, combined with his smaller size potentially raising durability questions for teams considering a big-money deal.
Overall, while he's widely regarded as an elite player, these factors could influence free agency offers or contract structure (e.g., incentives or shorter terms) from interested teams. The Ravens are reportedly eyeing alternatives like Connor McGovern if they can't re-sign him. Keep an eye on updates as free agency nears—things could evolve quickly.
