Teller would be the best guard we have had in years. I know, not saying a lot. But he can play the wide zone. Just has had some injury concerns the last couple years and last season the incompetent Browns front office (I think maybe to save bonus money) ordered Stefanski to being rotating him later in the season and then IR'd him with an injury Teller felt he could have actually played through. This is from Clev sports radio beat guys.

Thanks B4k. That description doesn’t match McD rush scheme needs well, but he’s a step up from Bose.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Dang - my bad. Doesn't sound too bad - limited in run game but solid in pass protection. Boze wasn't good in pass pro and seemed to be limited in run game. Mays and Fortner could be good options with a strong OG oiption
Here is the Mays write up:
Mays took over the Panthers’ center job in Week 3 after an injury to Austin Corbett and proved to be a very capable starter. He is a huge for the position at 6-6, 325 pounds, and he uses that size well in pass protection, creating a wall on the interior with a sturdy, balanced base. He can match up with big nose tackles. Mays is a bit limited as an athlete, which affects his ability as a move blocker in the run and screen games. But he should be a viable option for any teams looking to solidify their interior pass protection.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

So dmac_bolt with respect to the combo - I still prefer the stronger OC with a good guard over the stronger OG (Edwards) and a the good OC (maybe Maye or Fortner). But at least Hortiz has options.
If Hortiz can get Linderbaum or Edwards - I feel pretty good he will be able to get a solid OG to pair him with

Thats prob wise (OC over OG). He’s the captain of 5 and all … makes sense to me.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View PostSo dmac_bolt with respect to the combo - I still prefer the stronger OC with a good guard over the stronger OG (Edwards) and a the good OC (maybe Maye or Fortner). so do you like to
a) overspend on top FA OC
b) overdraft on top OC prospect (to be sure you get him)?
I’d rather overspend cap $$ but I’m ok with either - I think it’s a big enough deal to commit to over-X and not just hope to get lucky (again!). Either sign a good OC or draft one no later than … Rd2? - think that will guarantee one of your top 3?Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Yea...I like Mays as a third FA option behind Lindy and McGovern...the pass pro chops sell me.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

I think you overspend in free agency to lock down that OC position. And if you have to go a bit cheaper on OG -- meaning, letting Zion walk and signing a guy like Teller or Zeitler and drafting an OG in Round 2 or 3 along with competition like Risner -- I am good with. But if you sign McGovern - you probably have pretty decent cap for OG.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

Still need to draft OC but maybe that can be a day 3 pick

I think this is the best plan for the offseason as far as OLine.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

as of now, I like Bryce Foster for a day 3 pick for C. Unless they sign somebody like Danny Pinter as a backup.

If you have two bookend OTs and a Center for the next three years (meaning Alts 5th year option) - -you have so much Oline flexibilityOriginally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post

Im for it but it might not happen til after the draftOriginally posted by La Costa Boy View PostSo is anybody a fan at all of resigning KA on a 1 year. He has said he doesn't want to go anywhere else and I think we could get a loyalty "cheap" discount. 1 year @ 5 mil? IMHO I would do that. Imagine the schemes MM could run with Ladd and KA underneath? I just love the thought of keeping him around the locker room for 2026.

As much as I salute and appreciate KA's contributions and service, I also think that he took away some from Ladd in this past season. We will have our young receivers in their 2nd and 3rd years with us in 2026 whom the O needs to utilize in much better ways, and then we have QJ who is currently subject to trade speculations. Yes of course the presence of a veteran WR is going to be crucial again but IMO, we need a bigger and faster X, not Keenan. I do understand the cap space situation with so many of our own to re-sign and those whom we will be vying for in FA. I don't think that KA re-signing is a priority at this point so he may have to test the FA market again or just wait and see what happens with the Chargers landscape.Originally posted by La Costa Boy View PostSo is anybody a fan at all of resigning KA on a 1 year.
