Agree, I see he said he wanted to sign Elgin Jenkins. He was slightly better than Zion (62 to 57). Are we going to pay him 17 mil?Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
I didn’t say he sucks. I said he’s mediocre. Paying a mediocre guard 17-20 MIL to me is bad business. I would rather just pay a known commodity thats good the 17-20 MIL. I honestly hope they don’t have to pay any guard 17-20 MIL but if they are set on doing that, I hope it’s a good guard.
I compared their work ethic and durability. One sucks. One is mediocre, regardless.
Id think not! If anyone wants to sign Jenkins for say 7-10 mil,.... That's where we should sign Zion.
Me, I don't want Jenkins unless he is replacing Zion for 7-10 mil

Seumalo is also older and more injury prone than Zion. That’s why he’ll be cheaper.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
I still think they can do better than Zion. He just wasn't that good. Seumalo is better - and cheaper. Ben Powers might be cheaper and better. And the only way they get a comp pick is by NOT signing Zion and getting a comp pick for him.

Jenkins seems like 10-12m range if released, less guarantees than Zion. Older, third contractOriginally posted by Boltjolt View Post

Tyler Biadasz might be the answer if they want to fully stack this roster. The 11th ranked C in the league compared to the last ranked C in the league would do wonders for the offense. He’s more of a zone scheme fit anyways. Then sign Elghton Jenkins to play LG and draft Keylan Rutledge.

Jenkins is a good pass blocker, week run blocker , overall average but he would be cheaper than Zion. Should be looking at options to both.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

The key to the OL is to be better, protect Herbert, not care about the comp pick formula. It's two players...OG and OC. Get the best we can. I hope that's Hortiz mind set. But I'd still rather pay Jenkins 10 mil for a year or two than pay Zion 17 .

If Linderbaum signs anything over 20m I can almost guarantee MaGovern will be 20m to 20m+. He won't be much under Linderbaum and I bet none of the top OCs are going to sign until Linderbaum sets the market, IMHO.Originally posted by Xenos View Post1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). The guys at GAC think that Jenkins got fucked over by the Packers, was a victim of his own versatility, they literally had play all over the fucking place, played 4 different positions over the last 4 seasons...O-linemen thrive with continuity, Haglund claims that he was well above average when he was just playing at RG...Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
That's because he is barely above average at 62. He and Zion together isn't much of an upgrade. I mean he is better than Becton for sure but we may have a middle of the pack OL with Zion, Jenkins and Biadasz.
Depends how good a OL we want I guess. Id prefer top 5 -10
Biadasz id be ok with but Jenkins we can do better. If we keeping Zion
Hortiz likes to get deals that produce and don't hit the formula, Biadasz and Jenkins fit that profile...the best thing about getting a couple of guys like that is that you can easily afford to keep two of your top three free agents, you can either keep both Edge guys or keep one Edge guy and Zion...and because you didn't break the bank for them you can also draft their eventual replacements..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post.
