Wonderful start to free agency. This gives the team a lot more freedom this offseason and with Biadasz you’re buy a year maybe two to develop your center of the future…

saving that 15 million in salary vs Linderbaum means they can keep one extra big name free agent, so now we get either Zion and one of the two pass rushers or we get the two pass rushers…this is smart team building.

I’m thinking it’s gonna be Zion and Mack or Zion and Oweh…then maybe sign an additional veteran RG and you’re free to draft BPA and maybe grab a couple O-line in rounds 2-4, round 1 I think it’s going to be CB, DT or Edge…

I think Zion and Oweh are going to test the market and get overpaid. I’m not expecting either back.
      1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
      2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
      3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
      4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

That’s not productive team building, at some point you gotta keep some continuity and you gotta pay some of your guys so that you can continue stacking depth and future starters…both Oweh and Zion young enough that I think Mack might be outside looking in…

          @AthletesFirst

          .

Chargers signed him to a 3 year deal but my guess, the third year will be just cap. This doesn t preclude the Chargers from draft a Center
It just gives them a floor at Center for about 45-50% of the cost of Tyler Lindrebaum on an AAV
If he can just be the PFF ranked OC like he has been -he was 11 in 2025 - this is a very good signed

          GREAT NEWS!!!!!

this buys time to draft a future star center or develop one....

            Two different players
Zion was drafted, played four years and really, except for about 6 games the last half of this season, was pretty so-so. Now, this year, he had a revolving door at LG, a trainwreck at Center but the numbers have to be right for the player he is and the players available.
            Oweh played, 10 games

Either way, I hold zero sentimental allegiance if both are going to get overpaid for who they are as players
Now Tuli, I think Hortiz needs to extend him

Ladd in a couple year - probably

But Mack at 15 for one year - to me - makes more sense than Oweh at 25 plus - if that truly is his number. Zion, if he gets 17+ - wish him well.

Is a middling Center and keeping Zion ( who was part of this bad OL )really a huge upgrade ? Unless there is more OL signings ( and good ones ), I'm not impressed. Hortiz, do you have a OL blind spot?
11 ranked center is a gigantic upgrade over the last place center we had the last 2 years..... lol

              GREAT start to FA!

We can now sign 2 starting grade OG's.....and maybe others....

if we want a great, dependable big WR1 we should sign Evans....who is a great teamate and future HOF player who can take over a game in clutch moments....

                  Per Mike Garofalo
The #Dolphins and 2023 Pro Bowl FB Alec Ingold are parting ways, sources tell The Insiders. The three-time Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee and team captain had discussions with Miami about a new deal but he will be released and free to sign with a team as soon as today.

I don't need to see 11 on 10 football when the Chargers are on offense. Sure Matlock &/or Fisk might technically be eligible options but the defense doesn't have to really defend them as neither are fast enough to do anything. I appreciate their efforts - I know they each gave their all. I mean Matlock went from 6th round DL to playing on offense - so good for him to make a career in the NFL. But its time to move this thing forward.

Curious side-note. I thought my data or database included an error. It showed Shaheed played 18 games. But I double checked and in fact he did. 9 w/Saints; 9 w/Seahawks. He missed out on the bye week.

I don't mind his attitude or his salary - -its the draft picks to get him that I find problematic. I think Mike Evans, two years, probably less AAV, makes more sense. And he is older. But he is a true X receiver and NO draft picks. Cheaper. Granted, I think he too old but if you are giving me just TWO choices

                        AJ Brown
                        Mike Evans

                        would pick Evans

yes, cut them!.... they are not threats of any kind.... both are basically extra low quality OL with no running skills or receiving skills.... lol
