Brewer was a bit better than average. McGovern is about the same, although because he is available as a FA, McGovern is probably going to get paid a ton.Originally posted by Xenos View PostWhich is one reason I’m not opposed to signing Biadaz, assuming he’s cleared medically. While he may be an average Center, Aaron Brewer was also pretty average before he joined Miami.

Id sign Gary as he has been more durable.Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post
Saleh and the Titans will pay that bill.
If Rashan Gary is released, Oweh signs somewhere else. Who would you rather sign? Chubb or Gary? Probably going to both cost about the same.
Gary has played in more games though he came into the league a year later.
They have very similar career stats....which for Chubb i guess says something having played in 16 less games because of injuries..

Three years? No, thanks. One year, with a draft pick developing behind him.Originally posted by Bolts&noles View PostI would try to get the 3 year deal for Biadasz as opposed to the one year deal.
If that's what actually happens.I like it.The 11th ranked Center for half the price as Tyler.I take that all day. Leaves you way more flexibility.
Much rather spend the money on Linderbaum, though.

I agree. Henry has been a consistent tight end who has given his teams 50-60 receptions a season when he's been healthy. When he's had a competent quarterback he's been good for 60 receptions, 700 yards, and 5+ touchdowns in a season. Tuli is truly an ascending player who took the next step last season, after Bosa's departure. I have not seen Zion perform anywhere close to that level at his position. Paying what the market is supposedly dictating for a guard like him is not the right move, in my opinion.Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
He’s been a mediocre guard his entire career. Using words like “ascending” doesn't describe Zion or change that. Comparing Zion to Hunter Henry or Tuli is laughable, man..
Bozaman worked hard and was durable too.Last edited by DerwinBosa; 03-06-2026, 01:36 AM.

I get the frustration folks have about paying someone like Zion 18 plus, but look what Banks got last offseason, the NFL is DESPERATE for linemen and I believe Zion can still become pro bowl caliber with better coaching/scheme he will be better than what we've seen up until this point...even for a guy like Zion that came into the NFL fully developed and grown from a physical POV it still takes time to become an NFL lineman for some of these guys...
so how did we get to this point with the lack of linemen in the NFL? maybe all the 7-7 stuff to develop QB, WR, and DB play has hurt the supply chain? Also a lot of guys have tracked into D-line because they are following the money, now with O-linemen starting to get higher salaries maybe a lot of those athletic D-linemen might decide their best opportunities in the NFL lie on the offensive side of the ball?
Players will follow the money, guys entering college right now are paying attention to these contracts, they see guys on O-line getting paid too and they might be more open to moving to O-line to make their NFL dreams materialize...
we have 10 spots to fill on O-line before OTAs, and that's with me counting the future contract boys, Cleveland, Branson, and practice squad center guy that they released 4-5 times off the practice squad during the 2025 season and nobody claimed....that's TEN spots that need to be filled TEN, maybe Deculus takes one of them if they tender him, then you re-sign Zion and lock up Biadasz and pick up another guard in free agency and you have 6 spots to fill, draft another couple guys one in either round 1 or 2 and another in either round 3 or 4, that leaves 4 spots to fill in post draft free agency, maybe a 2-3 undrafted rookie free agents and 1-2 post draft veteran free agents...
with so much uncertainty at O-line it's important to have LT, LG, and RT starters filled so you can focus on C and RG in free agency and then get all that depth filled in the draft and post draft rookie and veteran free agency..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Zion is an incredible athlete who puts in great effort. That counts for a lot. Too bad it hasn't translated to success on the field.
Maybe there's a system that better capitalizes on ZJ's athletic traits. <shrugs>
Maybe there's a coach who can reach him in a way that other coaches haven't. <shakes head skeptically>
Maybe *not* playing next to Bradley Bozeman will be a plus for Zion.
<bonks forehead into keyboard>
I dunno, it just seems like you'd have to reside in Homerville to count on Zion being part of the solution, moving forward.

I’d do 2 years for Biadasz. That gives you another year to develop a young C. If they go Linderbaum, great. I’m leaning towards Biadasz because you are getting the 11th best C in the league for probably $10-$13 mil cheaper. We had the WORST C in the league. Having the 11th will do so much for this O, especially if you have extra money to sign other good players. $100 mil is a lot but will go fastOriginally posted by DerwinBosa View Post

Biadasz signed for 3 yrs $30M.
Fantastic news. Looks like everyone finally came around to my original point that since we need 3 IOL, spending $25M on Linderbaum would be too much when that figure can get you a quality C and 2 G’s.
Hortiz played it smart. We have several other positions of need besides C.

Per Ian Rapoport:
The #Chargers make a splash before free agency, agreeing to terms with C Tyler Biadasz on a 3-year deal worth $30M, per The Insiders. Biadasz was cut by the #Commanders after being set to make $8.3M. Now he lands in LA with a raise in a deal done by
@AthletesFirst
.
Chargers signed him to a 3 year deal but my guess, the third year will be just cap. This doesn t preclude the Chargers from draft a Center
It just gives them a floor at Center for about 45-50% of the cost of Tyler Lindrebaum on an AAV
If he can just be the PFF ranked OC like he has been -he was 11 in 2025 - this is a very good signed
