Yeah, add a dynamic running back and I'm with you completely. Dobbins is good, but I watched Joe Mixon against the Packers yesterday, and Jahmyr Gibbs against the Vikings, as well. If we get better talent in our interior offensive line and that type of running back I think we will be a very feared team.

The announcers claimed the penalty was on Hart (No. 20, can't remember if the refs announced the player number). But I wonder if it was thrown against Ja'Sir Taylor (No. 36), coming in from the back. His helmet appears to contact Harrison's helmet. But to me it looks like Taylor was holding up from delivering a big hit, and maybe Hart's glancing blow knocked Harrison into a position Taylor wasn't expecting.Originally posted by Bolt-O View Post
I thought it was helmet to helmet, but clearly not. Officials probably just saw Hart leading with his head and threw the flag,

who the fuck scripted the flukey fuked up fumbles from Raegor and Tart...that took a minimum of 6 points off the board for us and potentially 10...we lost by two despite not having anyone that can threaten their end zone, the formula has been laid down if the Chargers can't get Chark healthy for the rest of the year or make a trade for MWs or a better TE...Originally posted by SDBORN View Post
if NFL scripts a 3PEAT for the Chiefs this year, I may be done watching lol
this offense lacks finishers that can score TDs, QJ has been showing signs but he missed this game and I think our offense missed him big time tonight..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Yes so same as Staley usually provided....9-8 by beating the soft teams on the schedule.Originally posted by Cdn Bolt View PostThe D actually held up not too bad. The backbreaker was 25 Colson or 29 Hart? couldn't contain on Murray's TD. Took a crappy angle. Other than that they held them in check not too bad.
Hart and Henley need to tackle better. That was bad luck w Raegor's fumble into the end zone or he is a scrub who doesn't know how to protect the ball. guy was a #1 draft pick.
This is a rebuilding year. We had 3 rookies playing D tonite and missing many weapons on O so there were going to be mistakes. Like the broadcasters were saying we really have no deep threats just a bunch of guys. I think next year w another offseason we will be a serious contender. We need a #1 WR, a pass catching TE, upgrades at DT, CB etc.
Not getting to bent out of shape over games like this though they could have played better. 10-7 type season really

It would be nice if they were consistent - like the blatant hold they didn't call on AZ in our redzone that ended up leading to a TDOriginally posted by Cdn Bolt View Post
They showed another angle and you could see 20 went helmet to helmet. Should have been more disciplined.

I mean, I would accept over-investing in the OL, if they were playing even above average. But they're not. They're playing poorly. Other than 2 games against horrible teams, we haven't been able to run the ball. And Herbert is consistently getting harassed.Originally posted by wu-dai clan View PostI am reading the legit takes that we may have overinvested in OL and underinvested in weapons.
But in my humble opinion, we could be well served with QJ, Chark and an elite ORG.
The OL played poorly period.
Just one of Dicker's figgies being turned a TD conversion and we win.
Moving forward our Red Zone performance absolutely must improve.
The OL might be the most underachieving unit on the Chargers so far. We kinda knew the WRs and TEs would struggle.

Would love to go after Njoku but his contract looks bloated as hell. I know we have a ton of cap space coming up next year but we need to use it wisely.
A low key trade for MW or Hopkins + QJ and Chark returning might ease the pain a little...but I'm afraid we might have to just suffer/slog through this season and then regroup on the other side.
Why didn't we go after Amari Cooper??

That's just the typical Chargers finding a way to crap the bed as usual. Don't need a script for that one - just history.Originally posted by Fouts2herbert View Post

As I've said - the O sucks ass - has all year. I was expecting more improvement in the 2nd Q of football - so far disappointing - Herbert starting to throw for high yardage which is great, but it is not converting into points - inefficient offense. I don't think much will change unless Hortiz somehow brings in some pieces.

We didnt go into the season with the best skill group, we knew that. And no it cant be fixed oiver night, but there is available veteran WR talent that could be traded for at a reasonable cost.
But this o line is very disappointing

I thought Herbert's pocket was very clean in the 2nd half. That's what we need more of consistently moving forward.Originally posted by KrazyLegs View Post

I think part of why some people are championing Nabers + JPJ is that how often do teams have the capital to long-term sign TWO elite tackles?? I get the feeling that Alt is being groomed to take over Slater's position, as they may just let him go. Dunno why, just a feeling. In which case it just seems like a lateral move. Why not just invest in keeping Slater, and then you would have had your #1 WR and stud center in this draft anyway.
I don't get it.ESPN Screename: GoBolts02

We didn't overinvest in the OL. This was easily a 2 year project. They took care of the defense this year and did what they could on the offense. The FA's arn't working out like they are on defense. I would bet money they will get Herbert a weapon next year. We might see one this week.Originally posted by wu-dai clan View PostI am reading the legit takes that we may have overinvested in OL and underinvested in weapons.

Moving forward our Red Zone performance absolutely must improve.1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG).
