The problem is Harbaugh saddled this team with a one trick pony OC, without the ability to do what he does he can’t adjust. He’s not capable of scheming the tough offenses that don’t have exactly what he needs. To make this offense actually decent it would take someone with the offensive chops to scheme it correctly. That’s not easy and takes a high level of pass offense skill.

The team we played today have a really, really good OC in Liam Cohen. I've been paying attention to him all year. He makes Mayfield look borderline elite, leads the league in 3rd down conversions, and even went into KC with his top 4 receivers out and came within a bad call in the final seconds from winning the game. I'd love to have that guy.

In 2022 Staley went 10-7, lost in the 1st round when up 28-0 I believe.

Absolutely correct. The WR's are getting open... it's not the scheme.
The offense is inhibited by poor IOL play (both run and pass)... and the absence of any quality RB's. The offense was better with Dobbins in.
Fix the IOL with free agency, re-sign Dobbins, and draft a quality RB (1st/2nd round) to spell Dobbins (or start if Dobbins goes down).
We saw what a quality IOL looked like today. Rashaad White and Bucky Irving aren't world beaters all by themselves.

Herbert has taken a step back. The IOL has provided no protection all year.

Even a tough 240 lb QB is human and can only take so much. He is on like his 5th injury this year that he is trying to play through because of no protection all year

no..... our players are not good enough and we dont have enough of them.....

Harbaugh makes so-so players look way better then they are..... TB's backup defenders covered our receivers very well..... and their DC was smart enough to keep blitzing up the middle where chargers are weakest......

Chargers weaknesses have been exposed before, but it was dismissed because the teams that beat us before were viewed as top contenders like KC, ravens, etc....

EVERY great running team has beaten us..... though this team is vastly improved from previous years when bad rushing teams would run all over the Chargers....

We could not score on TB after first 3 series of this game..... and I'm not sure we got a first down in 2nd half except for a couple of penalties....

In a few days, we will be playing a much better defense that destroyed the colts (who the Chargers would have a tough time beating)....DEN will be a very tough game this Thursday...though home teams almost always win on Thursday....

Even with a rookie QB, DEN is better in the trenches and secondary than Chargers..... Chargers might not win this game either.... TB has a bad pass defense and we could not score on them after the first few possessions.... and we did not even get first downs???.... i can see not scoring but we did not even get first downs????? why?????

Chargers will have to beat NE and raiders on road who will both be highly motivated to be spoilers.....to have a shot at playoffs....

We only got 14 first downs all game. 2 times this year we got only 10 first downs once against the Falcons (a game we should have lost) and against the Steelers. I remember the Fouts era Chargers getting 30 first downs a game and was disappointed when they didn't get 30.

I will say this, if Harbaugh cannot save this organization, no one can and I might be done watching football all together.

Defense today gave up 223 yards rushing for a 5.7 YPC.
288 passing yards with Mayfield having a 11 YPA. 4 TDs

Add this up and it was a 511 yard ass whooping on the defense and 27 second half points

That will take our defense down a notch.
